Where to start planning?

When my fiance proposed, I had no vision for my wedding. I'd never thought about it or imagined it. This made planning difficult, especially because just about every article started with something like "of course every woman has fantasized about her wedding day since she was a little girl". What helped me get started was Pinterest. I browsed all types of decorations and ambiance, food ideas, dresses, and more. It helped my partner and I form a vision for our wedding. If you're lost, I highly recommend doing the same thing. The next step is to set a budget, then go from there! Anyone else have trouble getting started?

I had never sat around envisioning my wedding either. We started with a budget and tentative guest list for a headcount and then browsed venues within our price range, and then the rest fit around the venue we ultimately chose.

I was the same as you! I didn’t grow up dreaming about my wedding, and honestly never wanted one LOL I found all sorts of ideas on Pinterest and Instagram, and also from the lovely ladies here at WW! Ultimately, though, we ended up just sitting down and thinking about what WE wanted, and what represented us as a couple, and just ignored trends and traditions. it’s way too easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing, and lose sight of who you are/what represents you.

Sameee. Why did the media make it seem like all little girls sat around dreaming of a wedding?
I did luck out that my fiance already had a venue in mind,a bit everything after that I'd bouncing ideas off friends, pinterest, and attending weddings. 😂

I didn't think about planning until I got engaged. That is when ideas came to me as to what type of wedding that we having and where it would be. We looked around for venues, set a budget and we did our research. I would show and talk my fiancé now husband about my ideas. Our wedding turned out perfectly and it was us.
