Where to put guest book

Megan, on February 9, 2021 at 9:54 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16
Hi brides! So I know that at so many weddings, the guest book winds up being overlooked because many people don’t realize where it is, and then don’t wind up signing it! I know some people will simply choose not to sign it at all which is totally fine and I understand, but I’m just trying to figure out the best spot to display it so that all who want to sign will easily be able to see it. Where did y’all put your guest books?! Thank you!

You could put it on a table next to the table that has the table assignments! That way, everything is in the same area, and it would be difficult for anyone to overlook it (since they'll definitely have to stop by the first table to get their seating assignments).

I usually look for them near the gifts/card table.

I put ours in cocktail hr. Right at the top of the stairs. A lot of our guests signed it.
I attended one wedding and it was right as you walked into the ceremony space.

Ooh I like this idea!!! I never thought to do this. I’ll have to talk to the venue to see if there’s a way to do this in such a way that it doesn’t get too backed up with people looking for their seating assignments!

This is smart! People need to get there eventually during the night so I’m sure there they will see it!

I like the cocktail hour idea!!’ It’ll give people something to do while they’re in the cocktail hour! We’re having an extended cocktail hour so this could be a really good idea!

Most weddings I've attended had a table for it as you make your way to cocktail hour! That's a great idea because your guests are guaranteed to pass by and see it while they make their way to cocktail hour!

It's placed near the entrance at the ceremony on a table. Then transferred to a table near the entrance at the reception. It used to be very common to ask a child (preteen age) to be the attendant making sure guests signed. But some guests will refuse to sign for any reason.

We had ours on a cocktail table during cocktail hour in a prominent place, then our DOC moved it to the cards and gifts table for the rest of the reception. We also had a picture frame saying "Please sign our guest book" so I think that helped. The majority of our guests did end up signing the guest book

I’m glad to hear that you think the picture frame helped!! I was thinking of doing something similar, but was hoping that it wouldn’t be all for waste!

We put it on the table where we also put the card box and it was right by the entrance door so you could not miss it

Our cocktail hour was in a room with a beautiful chandelier in the center of the room so our venue set up a round table directly under the chandelier with our guest books under. Our guest books were non-traditional (two sports jerseys) so we also had a sign on the table. It was impossible for guests to miss since the table was in the center of the room.

We're placing ours in the foyer by the entrance way. We'll have a large sign asking our guest to please sign.

We put ours on the card/gift table that you passed when walking up to the table assignments sign. Worked well!
