where to put guest book and card box? cocktail hour AND reception?

Rachey, on April 13, 2014 at 9:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

I'm wondering where these should be placed. I'm thinking it would be best to place the guestbook at the cocktail hour and then move it into the reception as I don't think everyone would have enough time to sign it at the cocktail hour. I made a photo book with about 25 pages, half pics, half wedding wishes place to sign. And what about the card box? Should that be placed JUST at the reception on a table? I'm thinking when we move the guest book in, we could put it on the same table as the card box. What are you guys doing? Thanks for the input ladies! Details….

I am going to designate a desk for the guest book and leave it out all night so if someone comes in and forgets to sign, they can before they leave. Our card box will be at the gift table for only an hour and a half. I am paranoid about the security of the gifts/cards (I have been to weddings where things were stolen) so I am going to have my brother pack the gifts up after cocktail hour.

My card box and guest book are both going inside my reception room. Neither are being moved.

I'm having a chest labeled "gifts" near the entrance (since cocktail hour is in the same place as the reception). I'll be keeping the guestbook out the whole time. Some people may not think of it immediately in that half-hour/hour that is cocktail hour.

We're doing advice cards instead of a traditional guest book. These will be placed at the table with escort cards in the cocktail hour space and will be out all night. I'm not sure yet where the card box will be placed, but it will be packed away earlier on into the reception for security reasons.

Hmm so should the card box be at the cocktail hour also? I can see moving the guest book and I would imagine if people are carrying stuff to the ceremony they'll want to unload it at the cocktail hour?
