Where to put favors/candy bar table and gifts cards table? Outdoor reception and wedding

Jessica, on August 7, 2019 at 5:28 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Ok guys, so this is just a basic idea of layout for the wedding and reception and a mock up of our "favors" or "candy" table.

We are having a cake table, and there will be some other desserts on it as well.

Were getting married at FILs. Its near the water and they have a huge yard/field. The ceremony will be in front of the house but then the reception will all be to the right of that.

Most tables will be set up at the far end of the reception area.

My question is where should we put the candy bar? The image is not to scale by any means but is for reference for my decorator (and my own piece of mind).

Also, should I have a separate table for gifts and cards? I had initially imagined having the cards/gifts on same table as the guest book, but now Im wondering if they should be on separate tables.

Thanks in advance!

I would put the guest book on a table near where people will enter the ceremony/reception. It can be flipped during the reception to be the favor/candy table. Alternatively you can have the candy table next to the cake table but I would expect guests to eat the majority of the candy before the night ends. If you only want them to take it on their way out I would have it set up later and near the exit.

Maybe by that tree standing alone to the left of the layout .

There’s a spot off the dance floor by a tree that could be a perfect spot.

    Hi there Jessica!

I love a good candy bar Smiley smile

I would suggest you have the candy table somewhere near the food table. Perhaps to the right of it may be better so it won’t be squished between the cake and food table.

The gifts/cards and guest book could all go on the same table, however, depending on the size of your guest book, it may be best to have it on its own table.

You could have the guest book where the gift/card table is at the moment, and have a second table for the gifts/cards beside it. Would this work with the actual size of the space?

We are putting our candy table next to our cake table. We're doing a cupcake display. We also have a cute sign that says "Love is sweet. Take a treat." that we want to put up so putting the tables together allows us to use 1 sign for both. We are also having a DIY photo booth and our guest book will be by that as we want people to put their photos in it. I agree though that I would try to put it somewhere close to where people are entering. You could put it at the gift table so when people set their gifts down the book is right there to sign.

Yes this would absolutely work. And we have a large wooden sign as our guest book so I think 2 tables might be needed.

This is the spot I keep coming back to as well. I feel like its close enough to the "exit" but also allows the guests to eat candy during the reception if they want to.
