Where to go with the best all inclusive resort?

I just got back from taking my mom to Secrets Maroma Beach - while it was a little odd to be surrounded by mostly couples it was an amazing resort - (it was a bucket list trip for my mom) The beach was the most beautiful I have ever seen - staff was terrific. The food was good but didn't blow me away if I am going to be honest. All that said if I could afford to go back there for my HM I would but 10 days there is out of budget and that's how long we want to go for.

I told my travel agent about it and she recommended Excellence Playa Mujeres - and after several many hours of research and reading trip advisor reports I think it's where we are headed - significantly less than Secrets Maroma. I did ask about Secrets Silversands and she told me the beach would disappoint me after Maroma.

If anyone has been to excellence I would love the hear details!

View Quoted Comment Excellence is AMAZING. especially EPM, the one you chose. They have a lazy river and full bottles of alcohol in room, not like secrets with airplane bottles. Entertainment is great. You will LOVE IT. Food is also amazing, lots of choices and a hibachi.

We are getting married at the RIU Playacar in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We will have been going to this resort 6 years this year when we get married there in 3 weeks! RIU resorts are amazing and incredible. All inclusive and 24 hr services, beachside massages, swim up bar, wonderful food and lots to see and do if you please. I would definitely recommend RIU resorts and look into what they have to offer, they do have adult only locations as well. 😎

They had a lot of restaurants to choose from with great food, large main pool and other smaller pools, tons of bars, nice beach, GREAT staff and entertainment team! They have shows every night which some are better than others. Also you can visit Mayan ruins at Tulum maybe 90 minutes away. Many excursion options for a trip there. We did one that included swimming in a cenote, ziplining, and ATVing. Also, apparently anyone can swim in the superior pool or at least that’s what we were told on our bike tour but no one was ever in that pool when we went by. If your room comes with a reserved cabana at the main pool or beach that will be really nice because those are indeed exclusive!

FH said they had once gone to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica called Rose Hall resort and they absolutely LOVED IT! That's where we'll be honeymooning (10 lovely, warm, beach-filled days!!!)!
