Where to get ready for the big day

Ashlea, on July 19, 2017 at 7:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 31

Hi! So where are you and your ladies getting ready on the day of the wedding? Most wedding that Ive been apart of, the bride usually gets ready at her own home or a family members. However no one i really no has enough space for more then one person to get ready at. So do my bridesmaids get ready with me? Or do we just get ready separately and meet at the location? Im also thinking about maybe booking a few hotel rooms however im not really sure if thats the most cost effective way. If anyone has any ideas or can share what they did it would be helpful. Thank You!!!!

My hair stylist doesn't travel, so we're doing hair and makeup there, then getting dressed at the church. Haven't figured out what the guys will do yet.

I have a space at my venue to get ready in, but how much space do you think you'll need? You might need help getting ready, putting the dress on and such, so I'd plan to have at least one person with you.

We are getting mostly ready in the hotel (hair and make up) then putting on dresses and doing final touch ups at the chapel. My Fh is getting ready at our apartment, but I worry about our lack of AC and like guys in there since it is so small. hahaha

Yeah my venue had a very small bridal room to get ready. I have 5 bridesmaid so ideally we would all be together but I'm not sure

My venue doesn't have a bridal suite and it is about 45 minutes from my house. I'm renting a suite from the hotel that's no more than 10 minutes from my venue. I will be having makeup done there and getting ready. All of my BM will also have their makeup done there as well.

My bridesmaids and I (and my mom and FMIL) are getting ready at my house. We also rented a suite for the night before the wedding and the wedding night, which is where FH and his groomsmen will be getting ready. Honestly, if I had the choice, I would prefer to get ready at the venue. I've been in a bridal party where we got ready at the venue and one where we got ready offsite. It was much less hectic to get ready at the venue.

@Monique thats what my plan was too. Is it cheaper to rent seperate rooms or to rent like a suite?

My venue has a bridal suite that I can use only 2 hrs prior to the event ans I really don't have space at home to get ready. I booked a hotel from the night before about a 9 minute walk from the venue and my bridemaids are going to meet me there and some have decided to book a room on their own. We are going to have our hair and make up done there and then get dress at the venue. I already bought some wine and things for us to enjoy the day and be relaxed.

I have no bridal party, however my venue has a bridal and groom suite to use to get ready. I will get my hair and makeup done at the salon and then return to dress at the suite. FH already said he will be dressed and ready when he gets to the venue, - he's not using the groom suite.

@Ashlea I'm not sure. I rented a suite so we could all get ready together. I guess it depends on the hotel.

MOH, her daughter (our FG) and I are having our HMU done at my usual salon, my mom is having her usual MUA get her ready near us and then we'll go get dressed together at the hotel. My other 3 BM's though are getting ready at their respective salons (since they felt more comfortable having their regular HMUA "touch" them, and that's 100% understandable) so they'll meet with us an hour before at the hotel for pics

Well we are getting our hair done at a salon that morning/early afternoon, then probably grab some lunch, and then I think we will probably go to my moms house to do makeup. My best friend who is a hair stylist (and makeup enthusiast) is doing my face for me. My venue has a room for the bridal party to get ready in but we are going to take pictures before the ceremony at a park or somewhere close by so it doesn't make sense to me to get ready at the venue, leave for pictures, and then go back??

The hotel where we have room blocks is a block and a half away from our venue. We will pay for our room and possibly the hospitality suite at the hotel so we can both get ready there in one building.
