Where to find a Black Wedding dress

I found a couple from David's Bridal which I have linked below. Amazon and Etsy also has black wedding dresses. If you don't want to buy a dress online, I think your best option is going to be to look for prom dresses.

Hi black wedding dress bride here! I was hopeless at first that I would find one in person to be able to try on but it is possible! I tried on the Maggie Sottero “Zander” dress, it is absolutely GORGEOUS, and it was at a shop about 15 minutes from me. You can use the designers website to see if it’s near you if you like it! With this dress, it is a big designer and is first and foremost a wedding dress, so it was about $2,200 at the shop if my memory serves me. I loved it, and thought i would be back to purchase it, but before finding that one I had actually made an appointment at another shop for the same day in the afternoon, and they found about 4 black dresses for me to try. They were actually more of “special occasion” and even prom dresses, so the most expensive dress I tried was about $600. I ended up going with a $300 dress that still looked bridal, but of course black. My advice would be to call any shop you want to try out, and let them know ahead of time that you are looking for a black dress in advance! Best of luck! I will add that depending on the dress, and if you plan on wearing a veil that is where I would suggest trying the dye route. I haven’t found a veil even online that I like, but did find the perfect veil in white at David’s bridal. I’m probably going to purchase it and dye it black so I get what I want! Dye a dress makes me nervous since the cost is already so much, if something goes wrong starting over would be more difficult!

Being that the holiday season is coming, there is going to be a lot of black formal dresses around. I would look at them as opposed to traditional bridal shops. Not only will there be more options, but it’ll probably save you money. You can always use accessories to give a more bridal look if you choose.

Also, you have to be cautious when dying a dress because sometimes the different fabrics and threads used on the gown will hold the dye differently, giving it an uneven hold on the color. If you decide to go this route, discuss it with a professional before you buy anything.

If you're wanting a black dress, I would just search for a black gown. Take "wedding" out of the mix and it should be easy. It will also be cheaper because we all know anything with the word wedding in it is marked WAY up.

My old boss had a purple wedding gown aha and I think she got it dyed. But my advice would be to look at evening gowns or bridesmaid dresses in black.

I have a black wedding dress as well. I went with the Black Veronica Lazaro dress. You can find it in Bridal salons that carry this designer. I would honestly just research Designers that have black wedding dresses. Lazaro, Maggie Sottero, Zuhair Murad, Vera Wang, Lilu Bridal, Galia Lahav, and more have black wedding gown options.

I looked on Pinterest but there are designers that offer black dresses. Enzoani, Lozaro, Vera Wang. My gown is by Enzoani. I honestly typed in black wedding dress on Pinterest to get an idea of what was out there.
