Where my December brides at?

Anyone else stressing about the Delta variant trying to ruin your plans again? I'm still steamrolling ahead but worried about spending extra money too far in advance, especially if the vendors have a no refunds policy. What's your plan of attack?

Yea it is concerning. We didn't want to do a courthouse wedding( I did that my first marriage) and key people we want there live out of state so we are just praying it works out.

We’re currently acting as if everything will be fine for planning purposes since we’re having an outside wedding and are in Florida. Unfortunately, 95% of our guest list will have to travel so that’s the tricky part. I’ve already accepted that many of my family from England won’t be able to come and we’ll have to go over there at some point for a celebration with them (not that FH is complaining on that lol). It sucks, but we don’t want to postpone and would rather have something small than play a waiting game with never ending possibilities.

I'm terrified. I hate that an event that is supposed to be a source of excitement for us has become a question of just how much money we are going to lose with little to no return. Our original date was 12/12/2020, we are rescheduled to 12/11/2021 so we are hoping and praying we can squeeze by with a lot of vaccinated guests and lots of safety measures. I would like to say at this point that I'm cautiously optimistic but really I'm just cautious...

We’re getting married on 12/4/21 in Savannah but live in New Orleans. We kinda thought this would happen so we only invited 82 guests. Every day is a new record for Covid cases so yes I’m stressing out every day. Although I told myself I will no panic until October. Praying that things will turn around by then.

I don’t think we will postpone the wedding. My fiancé and I are in the healthcare field so we do not have flexibility in our schedules. If anything, we’re prepared to cut down the guest list.

Most of our wedding guests are out of state too which is a problem if there are quarantine restrictions in the area cause ain't nobody got time, money, or vacation time for that! I think going ahead and planning for a smaller wedding is probably the safest option right now. I hadn't thought about that before but I think I'm going to start cutting the guest list down that way I don't have to do it last minute. I hope your day turns out beautifully!

I feel that so hard! We should be able to just be excited and I feel like it totally has become all about the money, especially with certain vendors being sh*ty Smiley sad I think I'm going to try to stay as cautiously optimistic as possible until end of October and see how things are at that point. Then I give myself permission to totally freak out LOL. I hope your wedding day is filled with happiness and joy no matter how it turns out!

Me too! I'm trying not to worry about it until middle-end of October. I think at that point we'll have a better idea of how things will be in December (better or worse). I definitely don't want to postpone again and we're have very limited vacation days as well. I think I'll plan an A, B, C guest list now that way I'm not freaking out last minute.

Also, God bless you and your SO for being healthcare workers! Praying for you guys to stay safe and covid-free! I hope you have a wonderful wedding day, no matter how it turns out!

Going forward no matter what. We already postponed from last December and I am NOT doing it again. As of right now things are just moving forward as planned/normal. Am I concerned? Sure. This whole experience has not been enjoyable to me in the slightest and I just want to get it done now. I know most of my guests are vaccinated and haven't expressed any concern. We will have hand sanitizers and masks available for those who would prefer to wear one but won't be required. After dealing with this for over a year now, people are aware of the risks they are taking going to any event whether or not they are vaccinated. So you want to come? Cool! Awesome! If not...that's alright I understand. I'm not going to be upset or stress about it anymore.

Kind of starting to stress out. We are already postponed from last year (December 2020) to this December and it was around this time when we did our food tasting and then just a few weeks later everything changed and we were forced to postpone. We still have a few things to do, but part of me is like do I want to put another deposit down or spend more money on items if I don't really know if we are going to need them. I hope that people just do what they are supposed to do to keep everyone safe, but these are trying times for brides-to-be.

I feel that! We have our tasting in 2 weeks and we're planning on going through with it but I'm so worried things are about to shut down again. However, I would be sad about not going through with it and pulling the plug this early if things stay the same as they are now. Such a tough spot to be in. I guess we "lucked" out because none of our vendors would give us our money back so we don't have to pay extra money this year as everything transferred from last December but I'm hesitant about putting any more money forward (like invites) until the last minute. Best of luck with your planning and I hope you get a beautiful wedding day no matter how it turns out!

Thanks Donna! I’m sure things will turn around next month or so. I still don’t have my dress either! So that’s that. I keep telling myself not to panic.

Best of luck to you and don’t forget to post pictures of the big day!

Feeling the same concerns, but also barreling ahead. Trying to make sure vendors will be willing to change dates if necessary.

12/04/21 HOPEFULLY ( fingers crossed) I pray it does not get any worse to where we have to cancel. We paid our deposit beginning of the year and it's non refundable. So I hope it does down.

We are getting married Dec 19 2021 and unfortunately we have accepted that our full-scale wedding is not going to be safe 💔 We have reduced the guest list to 50 people. Requiring covid testing for all bridal party and officiant, requiring masks for attendance. Social distancing and seating at reception by cohort/exposure groups. The way we see it, we will be married either way with 150 guests or 50! Might as well save the money and frustration when numbers aren’t what they were meant to be!
