Where do the Budget Brides shop?

Emma, on January 6, 2020 at 11:37 AM Posted in Style and Décor 1 16

Is there somewhere, other than FB marketplace, that I can buy cheap wedding décor or supplies?

Where do you shop? What have you gotten for a steal?

When I have time I try to hit the thrift stores or clearance sections at Michaels and Hobby Lobby but its really a hit or miss.

I went to Michael's quite a bit because of all the coupons they tend to give. I also did a lot of eBay shopping.

I'm buying my centerpieces at Ikea, no joke. They have cheap tea light candles and wine glasses.

I used Etsy for a lot of my decor! We got our flower vases from Dollar Tree, which saved us tons

I've been going to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joanns, and Amazon. For the 3 box stores, I have been going often and using a coupon each time or waiting until items go on sale.

For example, when I went in this weekend to Michaels, they were having a buy 1 get 2 pictures frames free sale. So, of course I go those now and used my coupon on something else. I created a shopping list for all the decor I need. Then I go to each store as it is on sale or when I have a 40-50% off coupon. Also, depending on the season you can wait until certain decor goes on clearance when they switch out the seasons.

Honestly I've seen so many DIYs involving dollar store items! You can make cake stands, hanging garland hoops, seating charts made out of little square mirrors... I suggest looking them up on Pinterest. Smiley heart

All the shops PPs mentioned have great coupons and sales going on at random times. If it's not on sale now, give it a month and it will be. Amazon is also great because if you start a "wish list" it will track it and tell you when prices drop or go higher, which is super nice. We bought our photography backdrop stand when it was at its lowest price in nearly 9 months. Got it for a steal!!

And Dollar Tree, of course, is the big one. YouTube has a lot of great videos on wedding decor purchased from Dollar Tree.

I did a lot on wish, quite a bit on Amazon and a little on Etsy. For basic decorations supplies, i've also dealt with a local rental company (they gave me color linens for the same price as the white ones!) and efavormart.

So far I have bought a decent amount through Facebook wedding resale groups that I am a part of! I have gotten loads of greenery, signs, my VEIL, tablecloths, and other little decor items through Facebook and I have had nothing but success. I found my dream dress on eBay for an astounding price and it was in like new condition. I have also used Amazon for other DIY supplies. Dollar Tree has great 9in and 6in vases for centerpieces and if you have Sams club card check out things from there as well! All of the things I have found have taken hard work and some hours, so if you aren't dedicate to saving money it might be easier to buy straight out than searching for a deal like me Smiley smile Good luck!

Yes! Wish! I forgot to mention Wish! If you have time to wait for things to arrive, it's a great place to find cheap things. We got our photo booth props there, and some stuff for our memory board, and I also found little things to put into my bridesmaids' thank you packages (like SUPER nice pens and really cute jewelry). Smiley heart

I did a ton of amazon shopping. Be super careful trying to budget shop. Thrift stores are the bomb, but buying odds and ends decoration stuff could end up costing you more. Yes you may get an item cheap, but if keep buying more and more (stuff that doesn't match), that's just money wasted. The suggestion I will give you is to have a plan of attack. Search online for decoration you would want and go into shopping w/ a clear idea of what you want. Also set a budget for yourself for decoration.
