Where do people have their receptions after getting married in Wayfarer's Chapel?

Angela, on January 7, 2019 at 4:24 PM Posted in California Planning 1 15

I plan to have my ceremony at Wayfarer's Chapel (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA), but is very confused with where to host my reception at. The Chapel offered a list of reception venues. We checked out some of them but they are not super legit. Does anyone have any recommendations for reception venues?

Terranea Resort is gorgeous and not too far I think! Did you check them out?

Yes! They are very pricey though and have too high an F&B minimum requirement for us because we have a small group. I wonder if the restaurants attached to Terranea, like Nelson's are independent...

Ugh, that's so silly. I doubt they have F&B minimums for company events and you're basically just wanting a dinner party there, right? Try Nelson's. Also, did you book your date yet? If you're willing to consider a Friday or Sunday night (or Sunday brunch), they might not have an F&B minimum like a lot of places do for a Saturday night. And if you can stay a night or two as a mini-moon, that resort is lovely (tell them it's your honeymoon and they might upgrade you to a villa!).

We are having a Sunday reception and there's also a very high F&B. I will definitely try Nelson's. And yes, we only want a dinner party!

How many guests are invited to your wedding? Are you open to restaurant private dining rooms as a reception venue?

We will invite 50 to 70 guests. Yes, we are definitely open to restaurant private dining rooms too! We are particularly interested in those that don't have a rental fee or a F&B minumum.

Palos Verdes Art Museum is where i considered. They have a few other locations. look at venues that tgis catering works for. they have many in that area that they cater for. they do have a rental fee but not many places are going to have neither a rental fee or minimum. They usually all have one or another. You can try the private dining room at the cheesecake factory redondo beach i dont think their have either.

    Hi Angela!

I was wondering if you have found a place for your reception? I am also in the same boat as you and wanted to see if you had any new findings or suggestions!

I see this is a while ago ~ when a friend of mine got married at Wayfarers Chapel , the reception was at South Coast Botanic Gardens. Not sure about any F & B minimums, they used a taco vendor for their food !

Have it wherever you want! Smiley smile my friend got married there. 2pm ceremony and then 6pm reception in Santa Ana. Plenty of time for us to drive. It was also on a Tuesday, lol. Good luck and congrats!!

Thank y'all!! These are all super helpful! We ultimately decided to have the reception at Queenview Steakhouse. It's a stunning restaurant in Long Beach.

We'll host the reception at Queenview Steakhouse! It's a non-traditional venue but the food is AMAZING. It also has a stunning view. The downside is the rental time is limited (3 hours) and they could only host around 100 guests. If these ain't problem to you I highly recommend checking it out!

Hi Angela, thanks for the info. May I ask how much did you spend on reception (F&B) eventually? We are considering Queenview as well but they only have the 3rd floor available and requires a minimum of $10k on F&B... We also have a small sized group of 60-70 so it sounds a lot to us lol.
