Anyone go to big retail stores like Zales, Kays etc.? I'm trying to find good quality reasonably priced. Yelp is bumming me out because many local stores near me have terrible reviews.

Blue Nile, an online retailer, which made me SUPER nervous that he got my engagement ring online, but it's beautiful and I love it. I'm getting the matching band, and right now they have a 15% off sale on wedding bands.
FH got my engagement ring at a small jeweler. He told the man what he wanted and in a couple weeks went to see the collection of stones and settings. We let him know when we were looking for bands and he got us fabulous prices on 2c bands. Better than the big stores and with beautiful stones.
My wedding band is from Jared- nice jewelry, but I'm not sure I'd recommend them for custom work, like my rings have to be. Basically, they blamed their incompetence on saying that they have 3 current custom jobs under my FH's same exact name... I get Mason is a pretty common name, but shouldn't you have another way of identifying each order?? I do have confidence the rings will come out perfect, it was just customer service that they sucked at.
Bellmans. My fiancé got my engagement wedding there and we just ordered our wedding rings. Also got a 10% discount because he got the ring there. Mine is especial order and will get them in three weeks.
E-ring and wedding band are both from Zales (FH got them as a set). We got his wedding band at jcpenny... exact same ring we saw a bunch of other places but for much less.
My FH bought my engagement ring and the band as a set on etsy from minimalVS. I am obsessed with them. When getting them aplraised, they were appraised significantly higher than what he paid. Haven't picked out his band yet. Here is my set, rose gold with champagne diamond for the e ring and white gold with white diamonds for the band.
I have NOTHING good to say about zales. They put me through hell and back with my engagement ring. They took all of the joy and excitement out of it. Their only saving grace is I somehow got connected (after MANY MANY MANY calls) to an amaaazing rep who fixed everything. But even after that, other people messed up what she had tried to fix and it took 2 months to rectify. I do not recommend them. Do not.
