Where did you get your ring?

I'm starting the hunt for a ring. I've looked at Zales, Gordons, Kays and even Walmart because I don't think millions of dollars should be spent on a ring. I found one on Amazon that I like, but what would people say?

@Hannah. I wear a 10. Most standard places carry a 7 & charge out the rear to size it. I am one of those it's my ring and I want it now types. As long as I love it that's all that matters.

He went to Jared's! Sorry, I had to :-)

My FH went to Jared's, against my wishes. I told him not to go there so he wouldn't be paying for the name. The reason he went there though was so he could get me exactly the ring I wanted - which isn't a traditional set diamond. They were able to set it for him how he wanted it. I went back and got my band there as well. It was easier to get the diamonds to match on the sides of my ring.

IMHO a “cigar band” given in love is worth way more than a 3 karat rock given just to impress others!

I have yet to have even one person ask me where I got my ring! It was purchased from a jeweler with a lifetime warranty and the warranty is the ONLY thing good about that. We have sent it to be fixed three times since December. My only advice would be that if you purchase from Amazon, inquire about a warranty and check the reviews!!

Jennifer, I got my wedding band at Jared! IDK if their hiring process is different from other chains but the store had a very different feel than Kay/Zales/Shane, prices were better, staff was really knowledgeable but not salesy, sizing took just a matter of hours, and really the whole experience start to finish was great. I actually took an heirloom piece back there to have reset and got great attention and customer service, and the finished product is beautiful.

Please do not go to Zales. I've had a horrible time with them...see my post with others comments.

Mine is from Leroy's Jewelers. If you're on a budget, like myself and FH, there are several affordable rings to choose from.

Seems like you've had some good advice posted- but I feel like participating in the general convo Smiley smile

FH got my engagement ring at an independently owned store as well- I guess it's family tradition to go there because a few name drops got him a pretty good discount, which is sweet. Like a few other ppl- he picked the diamond first and then the rest was designed around it. It's very simple but I think it's gorgeous!

As far as the wedding band... I don't really care where I get it from as long as I like it. I don't plan on having any diamonds in it I don't think. I kind of like the plain bands... my mom had one and it looked nice.

FH and I went to walmart. I got a CZ ring that I LOVE for a great price. Sizing was free. We also ordered his ring from Walmart for a good price. I do not need a expensive ring or would want to wear one. I would rather put the money towards other things we want for the wedding.

The seller on Amazon that sells the ring I found offers a free lifetime warranty. That is good, right?

Mine came from Zales, but my wedding band is being customer made by a jeweler in town so it looks good with my ring Smiley smile

FH ring is coming from Zales, as soon as I come up with $800 for it

FYI...Kay Jewelers and Jared I believe are owned by the same corporation. If you check a ring on Kay, you'll most likely find the same on the Jared site..for a few hundred less. I found a couple of men's rings that are 100 pct identical...just priced differently. Even the description bubble looks the same.

Nicole, you sure BlueNile doesn't offer a size 10? I know on their site, it lists size 9..but they take orders.....just a thought

@Groomzilla, that might be the case, but I'm not patient enough Smiley winking. & the seller on Amazon was really sweet and knowledgeable. Excellent warranty. Now....I just need the Boy to pop the Q.
