Where can I find Inexpensive Tea Cups? Help :)

Strwpink, on October 27, 2011 at 11:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Hey ladies so I'm trying to minimize the cost for flowers and I've been wanting to use tea cups to put roses but am not sure where to find Inexpensive ones. I'm using them for centerpieces and I would love some help Smiley smile

Start with eBay then etsy.com and if that fails start on the used circuit. Yard Sales, Estate Salea, thrifty stores and GoodWill.

I tried Etsy and Ebay but some were way pricey!!!! I haven't tried thrift stores yet and I didn't even think about yard sales. Thanks MekMek

Auctions! Fall is the perfect time for lots of auctions... a lot of times the dinnerware (that usually have tea cups) will sell super cheap too!

Try craigslist. Sometimes people just give them away.

Ask friends and family if they have any cups, they might lend them to you or just give you some Smiley smile That way they would be super cute AND meaningful. Maybe older relatives have cups they received as wedding gifts and would let you use them. If not, then for sure thrift shops...if there are any church run thrift shops they are often cheaper and since mostly old ladies run them, they have better old lady stuff Smiley smile old ladies = fab tea cups...dont ya know!

I love me some Etsy and Ebay, but yea they are totally not gonna be cheap for stuff like that. Yard sales, rummage sales, thrift stores and the like Smiley smile Good luck! I adore the idea of a "tea party" kinda wedding!!!!

Goodwill and stores like that are the best place. Go to the wealthier neighborhoods because they tend to donate nicer items and for some reason the prices are lower!

If only you lived around here, I'd give you a bunch! We got a lot of them at the Salvation Army for our wedding.

Also see if there's a freecycle.com in your area, and you could post on craigslist that you're looking for cheap or donated or borrowed teacups, you never know who might come across your ad.

If they don't need to all match I'd say goodwill & flea markets are gonna be your best bet. :-) Also have you checked out your family's china cabinets? I know between me, my mom, my god mother & FMIL we could have enough service to serve all the tea in China.
