First 2 important things to do are come up with your budget and decide on your priorities (i.e. photography, dress, food, etc.). Once you have those 2 things create a draft guest list. It can be tweaked later on but you'll need a rough estimate of how many in order to choose your venue. The first thing to book would be your venue, this will determine your location, style, and date. From there you'll find all of your other vendors (photographer, dj, florist, etc.). I would go in order of priorities. So we picked our photographer first, then dj, and saved florist for last because I don't care about flowers. Look up reviews of all vendors before booking and read contracts carefully! Also, I would definitely start sooner rather than later. I'm getting married September 2022 and I've run into the problem with a couple vendors already being booked for my date.

    Hope this helps!

I would say budget venue and date would be the top things to start with.

Decide a budget and roughly how many people you want to invite, because every venue needs to know your guest count in order to give you an accurate quote. Also be prepared you may not get the exact date in October that you want because most vendors are booked solid for 2022.

I’m an October 2022 bride and I booked my venue November 2020, already have my photographer, hair and makeup and florist booked. Found a dress and have our menu picked out. Decide a budget and get a rough estimate how many people you want. Find a venue that can accommodate your guest list. Don’t be disappointed if a venue doesn’t have your date open. Start ASAP since a lot of postponed weddings are rebooking for 2022

Congratulations, MzSecret! As Sarah said, you'll definitely want to start your planning process sooner than later. With COVID, many couples have pushed their weddings into 2021 and '22, along with all the newly engaged people, such as yourself. Given that October is arguably the most popular month to get married in, you may have some vendors who are already booked for your date. Start with your guest list and budget. The size of your guest list will be directly tied to how much you'll spend; more people = more money. For budget, I always go with the rule of thumb of not going into debt for a party. Figure out how much you and your SO can realistically save each month (after bills and savings are applied), and then multiply it by the length of the engagement. For example, if you are able to save $500 each month x 14 months until your October wedding, you'd have a budget of $7000 (which doesn't include any money you may have set aside previously for the wedding).

After you have those two things done, secure your venue because without a venue, you don't have a secured date. Once that's done, then you can start your other vendors. Figure out which aspects of the wedding are most important to you and book those vendors first. For us, it was photographers, so we booked ours as soon as we booked our venue. We also did catering around the same time, but we had to use our venue's required caterer, so that wasn't a big deal. We booked DJ, florist, HMUA, officiant, and a couple extra vendors over the next 6 months or so after the venue was booked. Best wishes for easy planning!

Venue check out the ones that you like and ones that you might not even of first. Ask for pricing by email a head of time. We wanted a one stop shop so we didnt have to add transportation etc to the budget everything done on site which is helpful. If you can get a venue that includes the cake and or centerpieces that will help you as well budget wise. Also if you are getting married on a Friday ask if there is a discount ! Some venues wont tell you unless you ask! Saved me money where i got an extra hour of open bar!

    *Date

    *Budget/Venue (go hand and hand)

    *Dj/band

*flowers- fake or real? Save money if they are fake and Lings Moments are amazing and she has discounts during holidays all my flowers for $300.00 during holiday sale.

Esty, zazzle are big for me they saved me alot of money with printing and invites etc.
