Hi ladies we finally picked a date Oct 2022, when do you ladies recommend to start looking for your wedding dress? Silly question, but just trying to figure things out.. thank you! ☺️ I'm so excited to get this journey started!

I'm getting married 9/17/22. I went to try on different silhouettes in May 2021, but never planned on purchasing, simply to try on different styles. In early/mid July, I went to another appointment, again just to get a better idea of what I wanted, however I fell in love with one and knew it was "the one" and bought it that day. It's been almost four months, and it's not in yet, which is fine, I have 10 months still till my big day, but just giving you an idea of timeframes. I personally would also rather have my dress too early than cutting it too close. I don't have any dress regret, but I also make it a point to not look at dress ads or any dress related things on pinterest, etc, because I know how much I love my dress. I just look at the pics and video of my dress on my phone while I wait for it.

I worked in a bridal shop for a few months and it would take 6-9 months for a dress to arrive and that was pre-Covid. You can absolutely buy a year out. Just be sure to go to at least a few shops so you don’t have FOMO! But honestly I still doubted my dress and I had gone to 8-10 shops!

That is totally normal!! That was me this weekend because I just got married Smiley smile Everything didn't start hitting me until rehearsal and wedding day. But I cried so much this morning because I looked back at all the pictures and videos I had on my phone and it was just more than everything I could have asked for. But yes! Make sure it is THE ONE because it could possibly take some time on where you buy it, what needs to be done, and all of that. So excited for you!!

I purchased my dress 9 months before and I wish I would have searched sooner! What some people don't tell you is that your dress can take over 6 months to arrive. The expected arrival date of my dress is 6 weeks before my wedding, which leaves me with very little time to get alterations. I recommend shopping AT LEAST 10 months before your wedding, unless you are willing to pay for express shipping or give up your dream dress because it wouldn't arrive on time. I know this is not every shop, but it was my experience that I don't wish on any other bride. People talk about dress regret, but I feel that is possible no matter when you purchase your dress. I recommend to start shopping now.

I am getting married in October 2022 as well and I actually purchased my dress in June (first shop and 5th dress I tried on but I just knew it was the one). I personally went earlier because they had mentioned that production times were longer than normal due to covid with some taking up to 10 months to come in Smiley surprise . However, my dress did come in WAY earlier than expected (4 months) BUT I felt so much better knowing that I ordered early just in case and I am so in love with it. On another note, they said my veil (which I purchased at the same appointment) is not expected until April/ May. I was also told that my alterations would start at 3 months out so I am happy to have the time frame and no worries. This was just my experience and I am definitely happy with my decision! Best of luck in your dress shopping! It was such a fun day Smiley ring
