When to send invites with all that’s going on 😞

on April 1, 2020 at 8:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Anyone else getting married in August contemplating when to order/send invites?
I wanted to order my invites this month and get them ready to be mailed in June since I have some family coming from out of state. With everything going on right now with Coronavirus I’m worried about what’s going to happen in the next few months.
My wedding isn’t until August 22, I guess I can mail invites a little later than I had wanted to. When is everyone with August weddings ordering and mailing their invites?

That’s a good question, and I am in the same boat! My wedding is August 8th, and our venue’s tasting was cancelled because of the current situation. I wanted to get my invites out soon so I could invite people that we didn’t send save the dates to originally. I was contemplating sending a simple invitation that led people to our wedding website for more details and to RSVP. I figured if I had a digital form of communication from rsvps, I could send updates and offer meal choices at a later date. My venue charges us more if we don’t indicate food choices on place cards, and I don’t want to commit to two proteins without trying them. I am stressing about waiting too long!

I handmade all my invites so I already have them. I am getting married 9/5/2020 and will likely be sending out invites in May.

Ugh me too. I don’t need to include entree choice for my RSVPs. I just hope we have a better idea of what’s going on before the end of April

Our wedding is August 1st, I originally wanted to send invites our 3 months prior since we have a lot of out of the country/state guests coming. However, as of now they are most likely not able to make it which I'm okay with. We requested July 3rd deadline for RSVPs, so we'll most likely send our invites beginning on May.. I ordered our invites back in November.. we'll keep our guests updated through our website and via text/phone if any changes need to be made.

We originally planned to have our invitations sent out at the end of May bc we were planning on a lot of out of state guests. Now we are considering downsizing to immediate family only, so we’ll probably send them later in June. But we have to decide by May 1st if we are keeping the 40 guests or changing to only 15. So I hope we have a better idea at the end of this month what to expect for the summer.

Ugh. I keep hoping the same thing. That by the end of this month we have a better idea of what’s going on.

Yeah, all of our planning is kind of on hold until we have more information. I hate the suspense, but we are just trying to do whatever we need to keep our guests safe and still have the special day we were planning, even if it’s a smaller scale.
