When to send invitations, save the dates and dress fitting?

Save the dates 6-8 months before the wedding, invitations 6-8 weeks before. I started alterations on my dress about 2 months before the wedding. For RSVPs I would highly suggest doing them thru a wedding website if you don’t want to do them by mail. I imagine having to call you will be a headache because you might be busy and not answer and someone will say oh I’ll try later and forget. Also if you don’t have pen and paper to write down who exactly is coming when they call then you’ll have to call them back later when you remember etc. The RSVP process can be stressful even when you provide prestamped and addressed envelopes!

Save the dates should go out when out of town guests can make reservation at hotels. Check your local hotels and how far out they can make reservations. Some hotels are only 6 months out.

We sent save the dates out 10 months out, invites 3 months out. I had 3 alterations appointments, 1 five months out, 1 one month out, and the final one 1 week out. Since all your guests are in town, I'd do save the dates 6 months out.
