When to go dress shopping? Losing significant weight.

Coastal, on July 19, 2019 at 6:59 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 3
When is it a good time to go dress shopping when losing a significant amount of weight? Our wedding is 1 year away and I'm on a weight loss journey. I'd like to be down at least 75 lbs by the wedding day, but if all goes well I could be down 100lbs by then. Thanks so much!

You should go now try them on to get ideas about what you like. Choose three styles you really like and tell the consultant that you're loosing weight and how long does it take to order a dress.
Be aware some dresses can take months to get in and it can be pricey to alter a gown with unpredictable weight. Definitely leave wiggle room in the dress budget for that.

I went halfway into my major loss and they even sized me down on the dress they ordered and I’ve lost more since then. Hoping not too many alterations. Ordered my dress in April for August wedding.

Hey Coastal!! Congratulations on your engagement!

At a year away from your wedding, it’s a great time to start searching for a dress, you have time to try on different types of dresses and see what you like and suits your style. Usually, brides purchase their dress between 9 and 12 months prior to the wedding as dresses can often take a few months from when they are ordered to delivery.
