When to finalize all vendors

I'm less than three months out and I have only touched base with the caterer/venue person (its the same person). I feel like you have a little time but definitely somewhere between 60-30 days out those planning convos should happen with the DJ/Photographer/officiant, etc.

Have you been making payments with the vendors and signed contracts and all of that?

I’m almost 30 days out. I’ll be reaching out to confirm everything next week.

What do your contacts specify? I wouldn't start trying to pin down details until the contract states unless you have specific questions or confusion.

I'm 84ish days away. Check all your contracts. Usually you don't start contacting anyone until about 45 days prior to the event.

I’m a musician and I check in with ppl at 30 days and 1 week. Things change and ppl forget stuff more than a month away so I like to do it a little closer

View Quoted Comment Yes I’ve made partial payments on the rental items and florist and paid the cake and caterer in full. All contracts have been signed and I’ve met with all at least once in person. I would like to meet with the caterer again in person to go over last minute details. The venue provides the DJ and I have not had contact with him yet.

I'm reaching out 3 months out by email, just something simple like "Here is our rough timeline for the day of schedule for our wedding. We will send an upgrade timeline 30 days out. Here is my DOC contact information & my contact information for days leading up. Let me know what you need from me and when to schedule final payment. Thanks!"
