its still awhile to go, but i wanted to start looking at dresses not ready to buy one yet,

My mom and Future mother in law want to come with when i go dress shopping, but since Im just going to try on dresses I only asked my best friend to come with is this ok?

I just hate to have to drag the mothers along when Im not buying a dress just looking

I would bring them in when you have it narrowed down to about 3 or so. Get their input, but make sure they know YOU are the one with final say.

I would definitely take your mom with you for the first trip. Your mother only gets to see her baby try on her first wedding gown once and some mothers are very sentimental about it. If your mother is the sentimental type she may be very upset that you didn't want her with you for this experience. And I know you say that you are only going to look, but you never know, you may fall in love with one on your first visit. As for your mother in law, if you don't want her to go then don't ask her to. I could never imagine taking my FMIL with me dress shopping.

I think it's up to you. I tried on dresses for the first time this weekend and brought my mom, FMIL, MOH, and another bridesmaid. My mom wanted to be there, and will probably come everytime I try dresses on. Keep in mind what they would want. You don't want to hurt feelings when you are just trying to be nice.

I wouldn't even go look much until you are ready to buy. Instead, go through magazines and get ideas of what you like.

When you just go to look, knowing you won't buy- you are waisting your consultants time. And what if you fall in love with a dress?

Bring the moms when you first go- and be ready to buy.

It depends a lot on the personality of the mother/FMIL. If you feel like they are going to be genuinely helpful, and are willing to go more than once, you could take them from the beginning. If they are strong-willed and likely to pressure you, you might want to wait until you have it narrowed down to 2 or 3 that you really like.
