Hello! So i got engaged in january and my wedding is not until 2020...so three years away because we have a lot of saving to do. I want my bridesmaids to be 4 of my very close cousins. Do you think now is too early to ask them?

Katelyn, one thing you could look into with your timeline is CD accounts with a credit union to build interest. It won't be crazy amounts but it's completely secure investing and will look great.

In June, take all that you have saved and see about doing a 14-18 month CD account so you have the money in hand, plus some interest, a year and a half before the wedding to start making deposits with your choice of vendors.

I think it's great to be planning like you are. Your patience is admirable. FH and I would probably get married at a courthouse if we had to wait 3 years for a wedding lol.

For the love of god don't do it.

I'm serious. I asked a year and a half in advance and there are a few decisions I made regarding the bridal party that I so wish I could take back.

Just wait. Wait until 6-9 months.

I have a year and a half engagement, and I asked my girls the weekend after I got engaged because they were all in town.

    Worst idea EVER.

I didn't listen to everyone's advice to wait, because my BM's and I are toootally going to be ~~best friends forever~~

Wrong. We've already drifted apart. I regret who I chose to be my MOH. One of them didn't even text me a happy birthday. If I had waited, I would have chosen so differently. But I didn't, and have to live with the consequences!

Long story short: don't do what I did.

Hello there fellow Buffalonian! (I grew up just outside the city.) I asked my people about 9 months out, I might have waited longer but it just so happened to sync up with me being in town for Christmas so I could actually ask all of my people (who are quite spread out, geographically) in person. I know it feels like ages away but I think you will regret it if you ask now. Or even next year. A year out is probably the longest you want to have bridesmaids locked down before the wedding, and even then it might be best to wait a little longer.

Wait at least 2 years. A lot can change in that amount of time

Way too early. 6-8 months seems to be the norm.

Ask asap ! Probably by the beginning of next year maybe. I say that because i asked mine on Dec4th 2016 its now May 3rd 2018 and one already shows no interest and another one backed out because she's moving Smiley sad . The earlier the better because you can find back up to replace them .
