When should I have my dress steamed?

nimzz, on January 31, 2016 at 2:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

My wedding is in 19 days (omg...) and I realized the train of my dress is not completely "ironed" out. It has a few crinkles that I definitely don't want on the day of. I don't know how long it takes them to steam it, or when is an ideal time to have it back. How should I hang/store it when they give it back to me. I don't want it getting dirty or wrinkled again before my wedding. Thanks!

I remember my sister had an emergency alteration and had her dress the night before her wedding. I don't want to go through a similar disaster but I figure that steaming shouldn't take long?

We normally had the dresses finished a few days before the wedding. We would then tell them as soon as they get home hang the dress up so it ask hangs out. If any wrinkles show hang the dress up in the bathroom while you take a shower so the steam can help release them. If they are really bad you can take an iron on the lowest setting, turn the dress inside out and press them out.
