When should I give my groom his present

Katie, on June 3, 2014 at 1:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

I am contemplating on giving him his gift the night of our rehearsal or the day of our wedding after our first look. When are you giving your guy his gift?

BTW I am giving him a pair of transformers cufflinks ( he has a weird obsession with Transformers and Calvin Johnson aka Megatron) and a five pound bag of sour gummy worms ( inside joke from before we started dating). I also plan on writing him a note for his best man to give to him the day of while he is getting ready.

I think the night of the rehearsal is a great option. And maybe that way he could snack on those gummy worms while he gets ready the next morning? I think that's a super cute gift idea!

In the morning and get your photographer to take a picture while he opens them.

I hope to God those gummy worms arent from Haribo... havent you read the reviews on the five-pound bag of gummy bears from them? You really dont want that happening on the wedding day. Otherwise i think rehearsal is great, im giving mine two gifts, one at the rehearsal and one on the day of.

@JulyBride- HAHA those reviews are hysterical! Good point.

I think I'll give his BM the gift and letter at the same time. For what I have planned, he'll be happy to open it and celebrate it with his guys.

I'm giving FH his Thursday night. Our wedding is Sat. but I won't see him Friday because I'll be decorating and because of tradition. I really don't want to give him a big knife at the Church Sat to carry around! LOL I will have my son give him a note I'll write on Sat. though.

My ladies delivered him his gift and card the day of the wedding after we got our hair done. All the guys were at the hotel that is 2 blocks from the hair salon. So the girls just zipped over there, give him the gift, got my card from him and then came back to the house to get ready.

JulyBride - I think those reviews were for a certain gummy bear, like sugar free or something? lol but just to be safe, They are Trolli brand so I think we're in the clear =)

Maybe I will give him the gummy worms the night of the rehearsal and then the cufflinks the morning of with my note? I like the idea of a gift both days now.

I'm having one of the groomsmen give him his gift the morning of. I'm getting FH a bottle of really nice scotch so that way they can get into it as they're getting ready.

My fiance really likes green lantern (we dressed up as him last halloween) so I think I'm going to get him green lantern socks, tie clip, a belt buckle and maybe boxers Smiley smile It will be a subtle yet cute homage to our nerdy side. Also, he will be wearing black and green so it fits perfectly!

Transformers are awesome. Kudos on the cuff links! Smiley winking Since my wife and I and the entire bridal party were getting ready at the same hotel, I just called up one of the bridesmaids and had her take my wifes gift to her, and she brought one back for me. It's a nice "stress relieving" moment the morning off. Trust me you will enjoy it the most then!

I'm doing a boudoir shoot and that will be his gift and also a note. I have plenty of time to think about it, but I can't decide if I should do the pictures the night before or with the note while they are getting ready.

Well I had always planned on leaving my fiance's gift at our house for him to open on the wedding day (I will be staying somewhere else with my bridesmaids). I bought him tractor cufflinks and tie clip, a knife he's wanted for a long time, and a bottle of cologne. However as I was wrapping his gift I also decided to include in the box all of his wedding day essentials (so he wouldn't forget or lose anything) including a new pair of underwear, his tie, his suspenders, a new pair of socks, and our wedding bands for him to give the best man. My original plan was to have the photographer there taking pics as he opened it, but then I realized if I put everything from underwear to socks in the box, he wouldn't even be dressed yet, just in a towel after showering and I don't want him being photographed like that! So I put a note of him to open the actual 'gifts' after he was dressed.

Now I'm wondering if I should just have him open everything the night of the rehearsal dinner and save the card for the day of the wedding??
