When do people start buying off the registry?

Nope. Most people wait until the day before! Kinda weird....but normal.

Ohhh...that IS weird....but then again, if you are inviting my family, they either wait til the morning of to buy the gift and throw in a grocery sack OR buy something off the registry and dont bother to check it off the list. ugh....hopefully you will start to see some things bought this week!

I guess I should mention that the closest bed bath and beyond to my parents home town is about 30 minutes away, so FH and I figured people might shop last weekend, so last thursday night we were rushing to BB&B to finish up registering lol

My shower was this last Saturday. Only my FMIL bought off of our registries and that was the day before. LOL. I got plenty of awesome gifts, but only 3 came from our 2 registries that we set up. :-(

Little strange, my shower is on May 1, and my wedding is the day before yours, people have bought off our registry. I did notice on our Sears registry there was things people bought us that we did not register for, and other items were added. I deleted the other items that we did not register for. Maybe you will see activity this week.

@Analy is right. The other thing that happens a lot is that people forget to give the registy paper to the cashier for it to come off of it. Registry stalking are we?? :-)

Well, my first shower is Saturday, and so far 0 things have been bought from the Target registry and 9 things have been bought off of BB&B. But 5 of those 9 things we got for Christmas. So that's a total of 4 things that have been bought this week. I'm keeping in mind that.. A) A lot of people just don't even look at registries. B) Some people see something on a registry, and then get it somewhere else at a better price. Good for them, but annoying for us! C) Like Analy said, people wait til last minute.

It's annoying.. But my sister prepared me for it lol she went through the same things with her wedding and baby registries.

People tend to forget about the actual registry when they are buying the items. They either forget to give it to the cashier or find it elsewhere cheaper.

I'll update the registry if I happen to get stuff on it but was not marked as purchased after the shower!

Depends on where you put it... For my sister's baby shower she registered at Target and Babies R Us and most things were bought but it was never on the website/she didn't get an email or nothing.

For mine, three days after invitations went out they started buying lol

I'm a last minute shopper myself! So I always wait til the day before or the morning of. I keep doing the same thing w/my baby registry.. i'm so sneaky lol

I'm such a present peeker at christmas and birthdays so being able to check our registry online is just too easy!

Where else are you registered besides BB&B? Target? If I were buying a wedding gift I'd go to Target.. But not one person has bought off our Target registry! That's so weird to me.

And PS- If you register on myregistry.com (I did it for lingerie for my lingerie shower, some of the girls wanted ideas) they send you an email and tell you who bought you what off the registry! It kind of ruins the surprise but its so fun!!

I actually started getting gifts once people started receiving the invitations and visiting our website. But the bulk of them came between the shower and wedding dates.

Hmmm it seems weird to me. People started buying things for my shower (last weekend) a few months ago, and the items on our registry really disappeared about 2-3 weeks before the shower. Maybe they're waiting until the very last minute, or maybe like Mrs. Speer suggested, they bought items from your registry and just forgot to actually have them marked off on the registry.

We are only registered at BB&B.
