When did you get your marriage license?

SpringBride23, on January 20, 2019 at 10:45 AM Posted in Planning 0 32
In FL, a marriage license is valid for 60 days with a 3 day waiting period. We are about 57 days out, and I like to get things out of the way sooner than later, but I feel like it’s still too early. When did you get your marriage license?

In our NJ municipality, we need to apply for our marriage license no more than 30 days in advance. We then need to wait at least 3 days to pick it up, after which we can get married immediately.

We’re getting married on June 2 and will be making our application appointment for early May!

My fiance lives out of state and he won't be back until the wedding. Texas marriage licenses are valid 90 days we got ours 87 days before the wedding. You have like a few months to mail it in it just needs to be signed within the 90 days.

We’re going to have to get ours two days before bc we live across the country. In NC there’s no waiting period you just have to get it within 60 days. If I could get it sooner like you I definitely would!

Fortunately GA marriage licenses are valid for 6 months and there’s no waiting period so we can get ours pretty early. We’ll probably get it a few months beforehand. If I were you, I’d get it as soon as I could so that it’s taken care of. One more thing you can mark off your list.

For me I cannot do it more than 10 days in advance, so it depends on what your state allows. But if it helps, I would love to be able to do it sooner rather than later. My wedding is May 4th and I cannot start any paperwork or even do blood work more than 10 days in advance, which stresses me out. Bottom line, get it done early if you can so you don't have to stress out later.

I’ll get it right away so you can actually not worry about it. As long as you’re on the time frame you’re good. I’ll be getting mine next week which I’ll be 41 days away, I’m also in FL.

I'm getting married in Canada, we can register 3 months prior with no waiting period. We'll be doing that in March the next time I'm up there visiting my FH.

I live in Florida. We did the 24 hours course called envision love and we didn’t have to wait to get our license. We got it about 40 days out. We wanted to have it done and taken care of and FH didn’t have many days he could take off since the court house was only open M-F 8-4pm. So we took a Monday off in December and went to get it.

In in NY, theres a two day waiting period and is valid for 60 days. We made an appointment about two weeks from our wedding. It was the only later appointment our town had available within the next month and we wanted to avoid taking off work to go if possible.

We’re getting married at a courthouse and as non-residents of the state there’s no waiting period. So we’ll be getting it literally right before the ceremony! And then turning it right back in and getting our certificate lol.

We will probably get ours in April or May and get married in June. There's a two day waiting period and the license is valid for six month.

We got ours about a week out. It didn't take any time at all, it was fresh on my mind (wouldn't get it and then lose it lol), and knew it would be valid Smiley smile

In PA they take three days to activate. We live out of state and won’t be in PA until the Wednesday before the wedding. Since we can’t wait until that Wednesday to get it (it would not be valid until the following Monday due to the three business day rule) we’re getting it on May 13 when we’re in town for a July 6 wedding. It’s cutting it super close to the 60 days expiration but that’s our only option! If you’re under the 60 day mark then you can get it whenever. Better to get it done rather than have to stress about it later.

We got ours the week of our wedding. In California, there is no waiting period and the license is valid for up to 90 days.

We got ours less than an hour before getting married. There's no waiting period here and we eloped so we also got our signed paperwork back before we went home

I'm also in Florida! We are getting married on February 2nd, and we picked our license up on Tuesday, 1/15. I wanted to make sure we got it at least a couple of weeks in advance.
