When did you get the marriage license back?

It depends where and how long your officiant has to send it in. Our officiant had 30 days to send it in and then up to two weeks after that to get it back. So it could've been up to 6 weeks but it was more like 2

Maryland (at least the county I got married in) doesn't send you the certified copy. You have to pay for it and it can be ordered online or picked up in person at the courthouse. I suggest having at least 2 copies of the certified license, btw!

We were told when we got our license that we can bring the signed copy back the Monday after the wedding and walk out with our certified copies ($3/each). This is great for us as I need to get my military dependent ID/insurance as soon as possible.

@Kimi - me too! My fiancé is a marine. I don't want to keep explaining where I'm going when I go on base...I'm going home, thanks. Haha

In the county that we filed (in GA) we had to request it. The certificate (I.e license) didn't get mailed to us like other places.
