When Did You Create Your Wedding Website?

I’ve secured both the ceremony and reception venue space but don’t know when’s a good time to make the wedding website.

I love WW for these forums but used The Knot for our wedding website. I created our website within a few weeks of our engagement.

I started working on the website as soon as I booked my venue. I included the date, location, nearby hotel info, and more details about the wedding. That's just me because I was excited and looking for something to do. Really you can work on it anytime after you have enough info to put on it and before you send it out!

I started doing the website right away, but we posted the actual website for everyone to see around the time we sent out Save the Dates, which we sent about 10 months in advance.

I'm getting married July of 2022 and am wondering the same thing! I'm holding off until I have some ideas for my save the dates/invites, because I want to duplicate the look a bit, but I'll probably get the site up next month.

We made ours and put the website on the back of our Save The Date envelopes. I think it helped cut down questions from family/friends especially since the venue is a little confusing to get to and people want to know where to stay, even if it seems very early to be asking those questions.

We used Zola for ours and I made it about 16 months ahead of time but just had it hidden so no one could use it. It just gave me time to slowly add everything I wanted to it as I'm a perfectionist and it took the pressure off having to put one together on a time constraint.

I used Zola and created the website just before making our save the dates. For now, only certain pages on the site are visible (while others are hidden). Then when we mail the invitations in a few months, I’ll turn on the other pages that have more info details.

I made it to have available for when save the dates went out. So, prob 9-10 months before the wedding.

This is what I did too!

Keep in mind that you don't have to make the website live right away. You can create it, play with it, add to it, and keep it hidden until you're ready.

I started creating my website as soon as the venue was secured. Tried a few sites including WW to see which one I like best and went with Zola instead. In my opinion, there is no such thing is creating it too early. If you are like me, you will spend weeks tweaking the site before making it public and adding details. It only went public when Save the Dates went out and I decided to include my wedding website.

I think the earlier you start your website, the easier it will be for you down the road. You can keep it private until you are ready to share.

As you go through your planning steps, you can add a little here and a little there.

Then when you're ready to share everything you just need to change the privacy settings.

We actually did it this way and it didn't become a huge task to complete right before we sent out Save the Dates or Invitations.
