When did you buy your dress?

I got engaged in February looked in May ordered it like June or so came in October.

I did this at DB and had a terrible experience. Once they know that you aren't buying, they don't really pay attention to you. I had to unzip myself out of multiple dresses (which was really difficult for some gowns) because my consultant was pulled to help this family try on bridesmaids dresses. It was a really sad experience for me...

BUT!

I found my dress gown elsewhere, so I am happy.

My date is 5/21/22. I already ordered my gown. I am second guessing a little, but I have decided to look at accessories to change up the look. Right now I am looking at cape veils to give myself a train, since I bought a dress with a short train.

I would say you can start looking whenever you want but if you find THE dress, stop looking! You'll end up confusing yourself.

Luckily with my mom owning a bridal store I’ve worn more wedding dresses than the average 26 year old so I already gave a pretty good idea of what I like and don’t like.

It's okay. The experience gave me a good idea of what shapes I was looking for, and it also made me realize the importance of giving my money to a business that actually cares about me lol!

I bought mine 13 months out. I went to two different stores and fell in love with one from each one. In the end, I went ahead with the one I found at David's Bridal. Alterations don't start for another 4 months. If you're like me and know you're not going to change your mind, there's no such thing as too early. Just try to keep in mind what you would like, compare styles and prices, and stay true to yourself.
