What’s your wedding dress budget?

Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself...
Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself too. But I do think I should set a budget. So I just wanted to get an idea what everyone else’s budget is and which designer did go with? The dresses I liked were either Pronovias or Sottero & Midgley.

TIA!

My budget was around 1200. When i went shopping it was on sale for just under 1K. But i went back during a trunk show and got 20% off. I made some adjustments to the dress which bumped it back up but definitely would’ve went over my budget if i didn’t go during the trunk show

1k was my budget. I wanted something that was memorable— my husband and many others including myself rarely remember a wedding dress beyond it being white— and if if I was going to splurge for it to be worth it. I also wanted it to look more than how much it cost (people were stunned at the price tag), had intricate details, some drama, and last bit not least, very comfortable. We were having a Sunday morning brunch weddings at a restaurant that was promised to be a serious dance party.

I got it very early and tried it on once a week
I found my dress for $800, alterations were minor and came out to be $150, so under $50 for it all. My tailor also said that my dress is similar to ones that are 4x the price and it's much more well constructed than those. So that was nice to hear.

It was everything I wanted and more.

Dress was really low on my budget priority list, since I was working with a $10K top budget. I started with an $800 budget including alterations, which honestly I thought was excessive for a dress I would wear once but I would have gone higher for something amazing. Ended up spending $300 on a preowned (though new) David's Bridal dress. And I am so happy I didn't spend more.

My budget was $1000, which my aunt graciously paid for. But I found my dress for 350 and then my mom convinced me to buy a reception dress for 450. Tomorrow I’m getting alterations done which I’m hoping costs less then the dress but it’ll probably be more.

I’m still looking but my budget is $700 including alterations Smiley laugh I can definitely go over that but to me I would love the dress even more if it was a steal! So far dresses I liked were not far off from that, $800 and under - two samples that fit like a glove. FH and mom don’t agree with my small budget but I’m feeling optimistic Smiley smile if a couple months from now I haven’t found anything then splurge it is.

I set my budget at $1,000 but was even nervous to pay that. I tried on some dresses which I liked, but then of course found THE dress! Unfortunately it was a little out of my budget, but after a few discounts it came to be only $300 over budget. Of course I still felt a little hesitant to pay that, BUT like I said.. it was THE dress

My mom paid for my dress and didn't not give me a budget. I ended up saying yes to a $2,000 MoriLee by Madeline Gardner Spring 19 gown.

I had a budget of about 1000, I ended up finding my dress on sale for 350$!!! I couldn’t believe it, so then I splurged on the veil and shoes!! It is one day, so just remember that, it’s very easy to get caught up in the magic of the day, but once it’s over you might regret a 3000$ purchase! Good luck!!

My budget was $500 and I ended up spending $485 after tax. A good friend of mine surprised me and paid for my alterations, that would have been an additional $105.

My budget was $1,200, but the bridal salon I went to was having a trunk show that day and I was able to purchase a $2,000 Maggie Sottero right within budget! I think it's worth looking into special events like this, especially if you have specific designers in mind so that you can find your dream dress without breaking the bank.

My budget was $1,000 and I ended up paying 889 after tax for my dress. My second mom ( best friend from college mom) surprised me and bought my reception dress and belt for 300. She also knew a lady from her church who does dresses for pageants to do my alterations.

I think if the $2500-$3000 range is what most of the dresses you liked were in, and you don't mind spending that much, then that should be your budget. My mom bought my dress, and gave me a budget of $1000-$1300. I refused to try on anything over that price range because I didn't want to fall in love with a dress she couldn't afford. Even though my dress ended up being $1300, and I am still shocked I have a dress that cost that much, I am so thankful for my mom because I LOVE MY DRESS! I think it is worth spending the money on, because it is what will really make you feel like a bride and it is what you will see in your pictures for many years. Below is a picture of my dress (well, the sample I tried on):
