As a cake decorator I LOVE hearing unique cake flavors and fillings. Lol I recently did a wedding cake that was pina colada flavored cake with fresh bananas and pineapples inside. The icing was Malibu coconut rum. Absolutely delicious for a summer wedding. My cake is going to be two tiers chocolate cake with buttercream icing with raspberry cheesecake filling(FH is obsessed with anything cheesecake) and one tier will be gold cake with lemon buttercream filling. What's yours?!

Top layer - hot chocolate, as in the drink, complete with mini marshmallows in the batter.

middle layer - white chocolate raspberry

    bottom layer - caramel apple

We had three separate stand-alone tiers in varying heights all decorated the same to look like a cohesive cake.

We're doing double chocolate, pumpkin spice, Oreo, and apple cinnamon, and buttercream frosting. Red velvet is our alternate if we don't like one of those flavors. Haven't decided which one to have as our top tier yet!

When do you do the cake testing? I have no idea when to sit down with the bakery, or even the venue, for food testing Smiley sad

We are doing three cakes- passion fruit, guava, and a dairy free gluten free cake in vanilla with fresh raspberries. Our baker does these really light fluffy cakes (most wedding cake is too dense for my taste) with this really light fluffy frosting- it's too light to tier it, so we are getting a tiered cake stand

    We're doing 3 varieties:

Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and peanut butter filling with chocolate frosting

White cake with apple cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting

Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and raspberry filling with chocolate frosting.

The layers will alternate so it's dark on the top and bottom tiers, white on the middle tier. We already did our cake tasting because my mother knows the people who own the cake shop we're going with, and she wanted to take us cake tasting when we were visiting last. Smiley smile

Simple yet delicious. All three tiers will be "brides almond cake" with butter cream frosting.

We have an entire dessert buffet so if someone needs a chocolate fix or such they will have plenty of other options to choose from.

I do not like butter cream, I hope it's not the only option for me.

I'm having a two tier naked sour milk chocolate cake with whip cream frosting, chocolate ganache and fresh strawberry filling and a half dozen gluten free/dairy free chocolate cupcakes with whip cream frosting, chocolate ganache and fresh strawberries. We might also have two cheesecakes with strawberry topping because fh LOVES cheesecake.

The best cake I've EVER had was a light orange cake with an Earl Grey mousse. Insanely delicious. We're doing Italian Cream with lemon mousse, mandarin orange with raspberry, and key lime with mango mousse.

We just decided on our cake and I'm excited about it (even though I'm not ususally a big "cake person")! It's a mocha walnut torte. It has caramelized walnuts and mocha buttercream in between a layer of chocolate cake and a layer of white cake. A touch of espresso in the middle layer too.
