What's Your Ring Story?

DH and I agreed early on that neither one of us wanted to get married again. So I never seriously thought about rings or dropping hints or anything. I secretly hoped he'd change his mind one day but was ok with things the way they were lol. While secretly hoping I was wishing he'd get me something that looked vintagy and had a single center stone with fine details and no halo and no quad cut diamonds to make what appeared to look like a single stone.

When he proposed I was shocked. It's legit my dream ring. It has the center stone with the Tiffany 6 prong setting and fine details on the sides that have a vintage look to them. He even added pink sapphires to the sides for me since it's my favorite color!

My fh and I talked about getting married and we would go and look at rings just to be looking at the time. So one day we were at the mall and he said let’s go in the store (meaning a jewelry store) because I want to find out some information about rings. So we went into the jewelry store and he talked to the sales representative. Once he finished talking to them he asked me to go and pick out a ring and I did. This is my ring.

Mine's a funny one. So we spent a whole month joking about getting married, popping the question with absolutely everything we had in our hand, even food lol. Next thing we know it, we're both casually at the jewelry store "looking" at rings. Monday, November 5th around morning he went out "to get breakfast". We didn't have the money for the rings so I didn't think he was actually going for it. A couple of hours before he wss going to work, he asked me to look at my phone since a message was received. I asked him to read it out for me as he usually does when I'm occupied but he told me it was important. When I went to check, found the red box with a post-it under it saying "Look around the apartment." and the red case was completely empty. I freaked the f*** out and my eyes watered and started screaming at him in a funny way that how was he going to pay while laughing my a**off. My nervousness shows every time in complete laughter and smiles, so even when I'm scared or sad and it involved nervousness, you'll see me struggling with holding the laughter. Yes, I was getting proposed and my first instinct and reaction was the money. He just laughed and ordered me to start looking, or he would leave for work and wouldn't be able to be here when I found it. I turned my whole apartment upside down and NOTHING. We had in that moment 1 adult cat, and a new female kitten. I saw Fez (adult one) walking past me and reached out for him, while my FH was hilariously laughing at my troubles. Then, I reached without thinking towards Sansa (the kitten) and there it was on her collar, a gold ring with 3 tiny diamonds. I started crying while he took it off Sansa's collar saying a few words and directly putting it in my hand while asking me seriously to marry him. I asked him if he was crazy, how did he afford the ring, if he was serious about the question and next steps and his voice and eyes just gave me the answers I needed.

That is so precious!! I totally get it though. Although I didn't voice it, I was shocked that he had gotten a ring too cause my mind was just all over the place like where did you find the time to save up for this?!? lol. My initial reaction when he asked me was telling him I hated him while laughing hysterically

I also have a three stone ring! No great story especially. I didn't especially care about getting married--I'd been married once and then widowed and just had a feeling I would never get married again. When I met FH, it was such a shock, and when he decided he wanted to marry me, I was even more surprised. He asked me what kind of ring I wanted and I told him I just wanted something sparkly and classic or vintage, but other than that, I didn't care. He took my daughter shopping with him and they picked the ring out together. He also bought her a Pandora necklace and after he proposed to me, he gave it to her and promised to take care of both of us. I love that they picked my ring out together. It is beautiful and I was really blown away by it when I saw it. It was a big investment for him, and I just adore it. It's a reminder to me to always believe in love... :-)

It's beautiful! Such a touching story too. I didn't think I was going to get married again either. First marriage was just ridiculous but I'm so happy to hear everything has come together for you. Love always wins even if it feels like it's a million miles away from reach. When it's meant to happen, it will happen. Congrats!

My fiancé designed my ring specifically for me. He built it in AutoCAD, then 3D printed it, then worked with the jeweler for months while finishing school. I’m sure there are others like it but this one was 100% built for me and it’s perfect. During the process he found out about lab grown diamonds and we both immediately fell in love with the idea. So I’m happy to say that it is guaranteed non conflict as well.

My sweet fiancé saw a picture of this exact ring in my phone close to when we first started dating, and he ended up finding the company that made the ring! he ordered it and proposed our first night in our new apartment. 🥰 it’s my dream ring and i’m so excited to add my wedding band to it!!
