What's your Bridal Processional Song?

What song did you pick to walk down the aisle to and why? I had a song all picked out but I can't find the right version of it so now I'm trying to pick. My choices run from acoustic/folk-y to electronic house and super upbeat. I'm all over the place and every song is making me cry since I'm so...

@Mei, we seem to have a lot of the same taste!

We're doing first day of my life for our first song, and I've also been toying with XO, Hold you in my arms, and you make my dreams come true for processional/recessional songs.

Right now we're stuck on processional but last night moved a little closer to picking Swept Away (sentimental tune) by the Avett Brothers

I have decided on a violin and guitar instrumental version of Elvis can't help falling in love with you. FH likes Elvis, so it's Elvis but not so harsh with the instrumental version. The guitar and violin make it so happy yet romantic. I think he'll really like it

@PrettyWitty&Gay that Avett Brothers song is great -- isn't your venue brick walls with wood beams? I think that would fit it so well.

I always confuse AB with Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, I think they started getting popular around the same time, that's why. But 5 years ago one of my first college friends to get married did "Home" by ES&MZ as their first dance and I still tear up a little thinking about them!

Yes! You remembered my venue correctly! it's an old rope factory so it's all brick and wood. I hadn't even thought about how that song would complement the venue!

I definitely saw both of those bands at the same bonnaroo, right as they were both getting more mainstream recognition. AB is more country while ES&MZ is more hippie sounding. I looooove "Home" but FW dated someone who always played that song and now she says its tainted forever.

I have a list of songs by vitamin string quartet I'm going thru. A bunch are from movies, cause FH and I are huge movie buffs. Others are rock songs we love that still sound amazing as instrumental versions

I want to walk down to You're still the one but covered by Jesse James Decker but FH's family says that's like "an eff you song to everyone in the audience at the wedding" because it says "they said I bet they'd never make it but just look at us holding on." So now I'm torn

@mel - OMG - I love Awake....I had forgotten all about that song. FH is super EDM fan and I like to dabble a bit myself. Thank you so much for that suggestion!

@Amanda I'm keeping Tycho a secret (FH knows), I don't want "ew but that's not traditional" or "oh.. that's weird" from people. Keep it to yourself rude people, let me live.

@mel. UGH. let me live, indeed! I think about some of the things people complain about in regards to my wedding and think, "Man I don't even remember that from the last wedding I was at." Like, I could not begin to tell you the processional songs of ANY of the eight weddings I went to last year.

"Take my hand" by Abby Anderson. We ran across it on YouTube while trying to find my father daughter dance song, and we both fell in love with it.

We all walked in to the same song (H then WP then me and my parents): my brothers sang and played Strangers by the Kinks. it was perfection though i was fully crying my makeup off by the time i got to the front.

I walked down to Here Comes the Sun instrumental played by two live acoustic guitars! It was perfect for me and has a catchy melody so the song is recognizable and interesting even as just an instrumental Smiley smile
