What's The Proper Etiquette on Hotel Reservations?

Amanda, on February 2, 2017 at 8:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

I have the rooms for any of my possible out-of-town guests reserved, but I don't really know how to let any of them know which hotel the rooms are reserved at. A few have just asked me straight of course, so they're simple, but how do I tell all the others? Should I simply leave a business card in my invitations, or something else?

Are you making a wedding website? That is where I am putting all of this info! Very simple and can even clink links that directly lead them to the discounted rate.

I put an insert card in with my invitations listing the hotel, the name the block is under, the rate, and the check in/out times.

We put it on our website. The only insert we'll include is with our website (we're planning on doing online RSVPs.).

Are you paying for their rooms? Or do you have a room block? A room block isn't the same as a reservation- your guests still need to call and set up their reservation.

Put an accommodation card in the invitation and also put it on your wedding website

I agree with @annakay - a room block is very different than a reservation.

We put the information on our additional information card with a phone number and hotel name/information, and more details on our wedding website. People have been very successful in using it - we have 25 rooms booked by guests so far - we even had to get more rooms than we initially had blocked so many people are booking.

For some it's a room block and for some its a reservation--so kinda both. I suppose I'm asking for the room blocks for the most part though--everyone I made a reservation for already knows where they're going.

And we didn't actually make a wedding website. I've never heard of one, tbh.

We have it on our website and added an accommodations card in our invite!
