What's the best wedding favor you received?

Thais, on October 27, 2017 at 5:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 34

Trying to start planning what I'll have as favors...

I want it to be useful to the guests. I know not everyone will enjoy it and that I can't please everyone all at once, but I really want to try to have something that they'd use..

One wedding I went to they had little lego people as escort cards, and the favor. Cute Idea, super useless until I realized I was seated with a couple kids so I gave it them to play with to keep them from bugging me all night!

I'll be 100% honest and I feel bad for saying this since I know my friends put thought and effort into it. While I've been to several weddings with favors there is not a single one that was memorable or I was excited about.

Something edible/drinkable, or something that will be used up (like the soap mentioned above, or a small candle would be cute). Otherwise it's honestly just clutter that I eventually throw away.

The only exception was that I really enjoyed my cousin's wedding favors: koozies (coozies? Can't spell that word, apparently). Can never have too many of those things. They said "To have and to hold, and to keep your beer cold!"

None. Thankfully our social circle isn't into favors. Better/more cocktail hour food is what I prefer.

    We didn't do favors.

I've never been to a wedding that did these, but I like the idea of wine bottle stoppers or openers. Practical/useful and can be cute.

Favors are notoriously easy to peg as money wasters because like you said, you cannot please everyone. that being said, i wanted to do a favor for my wedding and found a lot of success in koozies. they were cheap, they were cute, and they were set on the bars so i found that many people were using them throughout the night. it's the god's honest truth that I couldn't tell you how many were taken, kept, or appreciated, but they were useful and didn't break the bank.

I’m always in the minority on this one. I like and appreciate most favors.

I like the photo booths. I went to one where the printed photo went into an album for the bride and groom. I was kinda pissed I couldn't take it home.

I went to a wedding where the reception was at the Boulevard Brewery and their favors were engraved pints glasses. FH and I love them and use them often.
