Whats Normally Included?

Karen, on August 10, 2017 at 9:21 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 27

Hi, so am I wrong in assuming that when i book a venue in America that all decorations etc are included in what package I've been looking at?

Trying to find out off different vendors/hotels and I am not getting a clear enough answer,

I'm just assuming that they are but if not do I hire someone else or do I bring my own(at the risk of getting squashed in a suitcase?lol)

Thanks everyone!

It depends on the venue but I don't think I've ever heard of decor being included. The contract should spell out exactly what is and isn't included.

It depends on the venue. Some are inclusive while others only provide the property. If you find a venue that does not include decorations, ask them if you can mail yours to them as you go so you do not have to bring them with you.

ETA: My venue offers the basics: mirrors, vases, greenery for the ceremony, candles, etc.

Check your contract but decor is typically not included.

It really depends on the place. Most hotels (in my experience) offered all inclusive packages which would come with your choice of 3 centerpiece options, linens and flowers. You would be limited to what your options are though, where non-inclusive venues you can decorate on your own with hardly any limitations.

Sometimes. You just have to ask. But almost never with the package you book. They may offer decorations services through a third party, but you still have to book it separately from the venue. Although, my friend is getting married on Halloween at a historical castle and it'll already be decorated for Halloween.. so you just have to see

The only decorations that were included at our venue were mirrors for the tables, and 4 votive candles per table. I agree with PP that most don't include decor.

Decor is most likely not included but always ask. They can get you in contact with vendors that have worked with them before and know the venue. It will be a load off your mind.

Always ask what is included! A lot of places will include a lot but I've only seen a handful offer the centerpieces.

Our decor was not included, but our venue didn't need much since it was visually appealing on its own. Our florist made our centerpieces and placed some other vases of flowers around, but nothing else was really decorated differently than the venue would look on a non-wedding day.

If you are traveling and want specific decor items, I'd recommend working with your venue and shipping items ahead of time so they don't get squashed!

Thanks so so much everyone, we have a package from a holiday/wedding company so we would have a photographer and car and hair and make up for me,also gazebo decoration etc so that's good,i was just thinking when we got to have our meal I would like to know that i walking into a decorated room,I can do one of three things I suppose, A: Ask the venue for a recommended vendor, B: Source one myself or C: DIY which I don't think I'm gonna have time for considering there will be other weddings that day in the same venue...

Must look at ETSY...thanks again everyone it means a lot!

Maybe the only things that will be included is the tables and chairs. Decor and the rest is on you. And they might even have a list on caterers u can use

It depends on the venue. One venue we looked at included centerpieces and the rooms are already decorated, but its a rustic theme so unless you wanted that theme you are stuck. Most venues will offer the linens, and place settings but centerpieces and additional decor are on you. Our venue is at a beautiful Italian restaurant with ballrooms, the bar is marble, and there are crystal chandeliers hanging. Its gorgeous. So we dont have to do much by way of decorating except for centerpieces, and some for the cake table etc.

It honestly just deoends on the venue and location. Friend of mine down in Georgia found an all inclusive venue so EVERYTHING is included, even decorations and centerpieces. She just has to provide some inspo pics and go off of what they have in their stock.

My venue is an all inclusive venue and they have a couple hundred items you can use for decor you just have to let them know what you'd like to use but no that's not the norm. I just got lucky!

It depends on the venue. My venue (for DW) has limited decor but they have some. This is a venue specific thing you should check with them.

If they dont and you are planning on doing candles, you will want to check with them to see if they allow them also.

Some of the venues we looked at included centerpieces and linens, but that's about it. I think it varies greatly depending on the venue.

Decor isn't typically included. I'm sure you can talk to the coordinator and discuss having decorations included for you.
