Hi Courtney! I'm not sure you could do Nantucket for that price. I've been there several times and I know how expensive it can be. I think it also depends on when you want to get married. It's pretty cold there most of the year, but it's hot here in the summer. So if you want spring/fall, I'd do it here. If you want summer, I'd do it there.

Our budget started out at 20K and we ended up spending 45K. But it was totally worth it!

@Jamila, we're in DC, too, and I can vouch that especially in the city, anything attached to the word "wedding" is SUPER expensive. (It's very expensive here anyway!) We ultimately went the DW AND (plus sign failure again) lower key home town reception (in the NYC area, so not exactly cheap there, either) route because we really wanted a smaller wedding. We also wanted our folks to get a vacation out of it, b/c none of them would have gone on their own. Our biggest splurge is the little hotel where we're getting married, the nice room, and the particular nice room for the night of the wedding! (We'll host our DW guests for a few hours, as it has a rooftop terrace and private pool. Mmmm...)

My budget is 2500 and I have yet to hit that mark lol

Looking at it now, it seems a little crazy to spend that much money. Hah.. could have saved it and bough cars for cash! Oh well.. once in a life grandeur.

Our budget is $25k, the entire wedding is the biggest splurge to me, we're hoping to stay at that but our guests list is growing so we might end up spending close to $30k

Our budget is $15k for 22 pp in Maui. Our biggest splurge is the reception venue. At first we were just going to a restaurant after the beach ceremony but we decided on the whole deal with open bar, sit down dinner and dancing.

My budget is 10,000 for 150 guests. I know a photographer, dj and ceremony musician so I've been given a few breaks on price. The biggest splurge is the reception, but even with that, I found a country club that offers a sit-down dinner with options of filet mignon, seafood platter, chicken french and lobster ravioli for $23/head!! Also, the book Bridal Bargains is a godsend! I recommend it to anyone looking to save money!

Our budget is 35k for everything including the honeymoon and rehearsal dinner - so far we have been able to stay pretty much on track - and that is also for 100-110 guests

Our biggest splurge by far is our venue, it's all inclusive which makes paying the $$ for it worth it.

Our budget was 20-25K for 250 people. I wouldn't consider the reception hall a splurge because we received a discounted price on the food, it just cost us nearly 13K because we have such a large wedding. The one thing I refused to cut corners on was the photographer but we received an amazing package from him so he was less than $1500.

We're keeping it under $10,000 for about 100 people. Our biggest splurge is the venue including food and alcohol.

We didn't have a set budget. We knew what was important to us - splurged on that - and for the rest just made smart choices.

We spent about $12,700 for 65 guests. The biggest cost was food (catered by venue so I guess you could say venue was most expensive) at $52-$56/person depending on what they ordered.

@Michelle S--I dont want to go over budget but if I have to I will. since my FH and my parents are spliting the bill. They really didnt give us a budget but I just dont want to spend all their money

My *before research and unrealistic budget* was 5k for $120 people. After doing my work the budget just had to increase so $10k it is. The caterer is the biggest splurge because they will also decorate the venue so I won't have to do any outside rentals and their fee was $5200.

What was I thinking...lol! Someone should have stopped me!!!

@anticipatingAugust- we did the same thing, before we knew how much anything cost we wanted to spend $6-8k, but once we actually did research into the price of things it's had to be bumped up to $8-10k. though we CANNOT got over 10k.

not including honeymoon.

Our budget was 4-5K for the wedding only. We ended up being right over 7K including the honeymoon (which was $1500), but my mom and sister were able to contribute some as well, so we may have gone over our budget by 100-200 bucks, but we ended up getting back just over 400 from the rental for the fiasco their rental items ended up being on our wedding day, so we were able to stick to our budget. Our biggest splurge was definitely our buttons. For all of the bouquets, corsages, boutionneres, and centerpieces, it was $1000. Definitely the most expensive item on the list.

The plan is $2,500 for no guests. Most of it will go to the photographer.
