What wording should i use when contacting guests about their lack of response to the rsvp?

How should I word myself when contacting those on the guest list who have not responded? The due date has passed.

Hi Mary! I haven't received your RSVP yet for our wedding. Will you be able to make it?

This isn't as hard as people make it out to be.

No but I can be too blunt and too wordy. Its not that it's hard, just was unsure of the best way to say it to someone. I also had a hard time finding the older threads for this.

I typed RSVP in search and a bunch of these threads came up.

Choose wording to get a yes or no while you are on the phone. Don't just tell them you need a response. They already know that and chose not to respond.

"I'm calling because our caterer needs final numbers and we haven't received your rsvp. If you are unable to commit, we will miss you at the wedding."

If you have to leave a message "I'm calling because our caterer needs final numbers and we haven't received your rsvp. If we don't hear from you in 24 hours, we will have to consider you a no and will miss you at the wedding."

Yeah, I would just keep it short and sweet "Hey there _____, Just going through my list of RSVPs, didnt see one from you, are you going to be able to come?" Good luck girl!

Yes, it is not that difficult, lol. Lots of people forget, misplace or lose the RSVP. Be sure to get a yes or no before the call ends.

We went through this too: Some friends would NOT answer us - it was getting funny after a while, I was like "Guys! Coming or not?"

    They did not come, lol!

Yes, this is perfect. You're just asking a simple question to follow-up with people.

I just said "Hey Joe. I just wanted to touch base with you. I have not received your RSVP yet and just wanted to see if you were able to make it?"

I would just be direct.. it is rude to not RSVP so you shouldn't feel bad about your wording when having to follow up. Also.. DELEGATE! Make your future hubby call his friends and both sets of parents call their respective family members or friends. You should only have to contact your personal guests and they should be close enough friends you can just text or call quickly and not worry about pomp and circumstance.

Its already being delegated. Just want to be able to have an idea of what to say and have something to suggest if I'm asked from fh or his parents. All if my family has responded

You have to remember, people may have RSVPed but they got lost in the mail. Before my wedding, I always thought “lost in the mail” was a euphemism for never sent it. I don’t think any of our RSVPs got lost, but at least two invitations that I remember did. My grandma phoned my mom getting mad at her that my aunt wasn’t invited. My mom told her aunt absolutely was; she had seen the invitation in the box, addressed, with a stamp. I do not know if she ever received it. Another was a friend. He never received it, and he lived one street behind us, but it still got lost.
