What was your wedding budget?

And are you managing to stay under or are you over it? FH and I set a budget of $10,000, and we're closer to about $12,000 because we spent more on catering and an open bar than planned. We both agreed we'd rather spend a little more to make our guests happen.

Finding a venue that pretty much included everything was half the battle. We also opted for only beer and wine open bar because a lot of both of our families do not drink at all and there is only 1 person out of the entire 125 that does not drink beer or wine.... my mom only drinks liquor.

Also, I opted out of real flowers. I can not see spending 2k on flowers that are just going to die or be thrown out. So, I bought sola wood flowers and dyed them the colors I wanted and made bouquets for the myself and bridesmaids. The girls are super excited because they get to keep them and put them in vase for house decor.

Also, I inherited a crafting gene from my grandmother so I am making most of my decor. I went around to the Thrift stores and Goodwills to find old large photo frames with glass in them to make signs and seating charts. I found an old bird cage for $2 to use as a card holder. You can find some good stuff at thrift stores, that is where most brides drop off stuff from their wedding they can no longer us.

We are having cupcakes for the guest and then ordered a 2 Tier cake from Sam's club for us to cut. It cost $38. They make AMAZING cakes. We are just having it white and I made a little flower arrangement for the top.

Budget was 10,000.00. Think we are all in at 13,000.00. Destination Wedding and think we will have about 35 there. That's what I'm hoping for anyway.

FH and I were hoping to stay around $20,000 but in lower NY, for 125 people, that is really low. We're nearing $30,000 now, and hoping to stay under $34,000.

Our is between $6000 - $6500. We are paying for our wedding ourselves, but with our wedding being about 1 1/2 year away we gonna be able to save tons, plus use our income tax money. We also, dont live together yet, so we have to get an apartment by November and we'll be at the 11 months mark to really start saving.

FH originally gave me a budget of $4k. Thankfully, I was able to double it. All told it's going to end up about $9,300 for everything except the honeymoon. That's with an all inclusive venue, a guest list of 35 on the shoreline of CT.
