What was the first venue you visited? Is this the venue you ended up booking, or did you choose a different venue?
I had my heart set on the Handle Bar at Great American Ball Park, but we couldn’t make any of the dates work. I booked the Ohio State House instead. When we looked at it, I was dead set against it. Everyone needs to go through the metal detector at the entrance. How do you make that classy?
The first venue we visited was Essex Resort & Spa. We visited 5 venues in one weekend (we wanted a June wedding and only had 2 weekends that we could make work due to religious holidays). I was pretty sure going into it that I would choose Essex or Top Notch. And while I loved both of them, when we went to Jay (all because FH insisted we had to see it) we both knew instantly that it was the place. It also helped that it was the most affordable!
The first venue we visited was NYIT De Seversky mansion in Brookville Long Island. We loved it but it would have been more like a cocktail styled reception broken up into different rooms. We didn’t like the fact that all of our guests couldn’t be in the same room at the same time. We ended up going with the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport Long Island
While I did tons of research, we only visited 2 venues. We were pretty sure we wanted the first venue we saw but made sure to see something else just to seal the deal. We chose Deity in Brooklyn and we were very happy with our choice.

Thanks Jayla. I am so excited about it. I’ve gone twice. Once it was raining and cloudy the other it was sunny and hot. Both times it was breathtaking. Me knowing that the pictures will be beautiful no matter what gave me so much peace!
First vendor I visted was hair and makeup. I got my trial done at the beginning of the day so I could test the durability of the hair and makeup as I visited other vendors
The Barn in Bloomsburg, PA. The outside pictures of the place on their website must have been photo-shopped to appear as if it's pretty. It is pretty inside but there was no bridal room because they want you to book one of their hotel rooms. The wedding coordinator was abrupt and rude who doesn't do any set up or assist with anything (she got ticked when my mother asked why her title is "wedding coordinator" if she's only booking the venue and not coordinating anything ). There was so much that appeared to be included but was actually all "extra add-ons". You all know what bull that is. Luckily, we did not book there for these reasons and several others.
