What was the first venue you visited? Is this the venue you ended up booking, or did you choose a different venue?
I’m getting married at Trinity Church in Newport RI. I visited several reception venues in one day and I went with the second one. It was hands down the most beautiful and the staff was amazing.
Our first venue visit was The Outdoor Country Club. One and done. This was the venue we went with. They were the best priced and beautiful with inside and outside locations.
First one we've looked at is Twin Lakes Cedar Cabins. Super pretty, perfect for an outdoor fall wedding. I'm thinking this place will be it, but we're still looking.
The first venue we looked at was the Benachi House in New Orleans. I'd been to several weddings there and thought it was pretty. But they didn't include linens and such, plus we wouldn't have been able to have a Saturday wedding because ours was too small. The venue we used actually is in the same neighborhood, ended up being less expensive, included everything we needed and we could book Saturday.
We have been to a few weddings that we liked the vibe and asthertic. We also consodered doing it at our own archery shop. But I finally convinced him to check out a barn venue with me and see what it included. When we saw it, we were sold 💕
I have a pretty funny story with this one... we had just helped a friend move out of her apartment and were just staying with my MOH's sister for the weekend, we got lost looking for the venue and ended up parked in front of this guys house.. he started to give us directions and then saw the ring on my finger and told us to come with him... turns out his house backs up to the venue and he let us take pictures while a wedding was going on so I did... in the bushes... like a crazy person. Its a fun story now haha but also he gave me his business card because he officiates! It was a pretty great afternoon!
The first venue I visited was Culinary Dropout at the Hard Rock Hotel. FH likes their food and he thought their patio would be a fun space for our reception. I went there and was immediately put off because they’d changed the decor on the patio, PLUS they had cornhole of all things and said all restaurant patrons would be allowed/have access to the games during our reception. I don’t like games in general and have a special hate for cornhole, lol, so that was enough to steer me away.
Considering it’s still likely to be in the 90s in Vegas for our wedding, I’m also glad I ended up choosing an indoor venue over the patio idea. It would’ve been uncomfortable and hot for all involved, and I don’t want to do that to my guests OR myself.
Didnt look at ceremony venues at all because it was a given that we would get married at the church where I attend regularly and am in choir with my priest and our organist and choir. But only looked at one reception venue - the Higgins Armory and loves it - its a recreation medieval castle hall so requires basically no decorating and its gorgeous!
The first one we visited was the Embassy Suites downtown. We loved it, but found one that worked better for our guests, and had everything we wanted! It's funny cause the one we booked was one we looked at at the last minute and were pretty convinced we wouldn't book, but I kept coming back to it because of the pricing, and sure enough!!
