What type of pen should be used on vinyl records?

I am a music junkie that collects vinyl records. Our guest "book" is going to be a few 45's that are laid out on a table, and our guests can sign them. I'm not sure what type of pen to use on them though. Any suggestions? I need something that I can buy in white, because that will show up best. But I don't know if we should try a white Sharpie, a white paint pen (I think this would be too thick and possibly runny), or what we should use?

I would imagine a white sharpie, but I would buy one and test it out for sure!

Maybe a china marker? Grease pencil?

In my industry we write on the lighting gels to identify them and they are similar material, albeit with no grooves. We use a white grease pencil.

Hi! Just curious what type of pen you ended up using? We are wanting to use vinyl records as our guestbook as well and wanted to see what pen would work best. Thanks in advance!!

Hi Sarah, I saw the you just got married in April. We are getting married next month and plan on doing this for our guest book. What markers did you end up using and did they smear?
