What to "throw"? Let's talk Send-offs.

I feel like I've seen all of the ideas for send-offs out there, from paper lanterns to coconut to herbs to sparklers. I'm at a bit of a mental block here trying to figure out the best send off "thing". We're getting married outside, the reception will be in a barn for the meal and right outside the barn for the dancing. I'm thinking we'll run out of the barn while the guests line up at the dance floor and the getaway car will be right there at the other end of the dance floor.

The send off will be at 9pm in October, so it will definitely be dark. We'll have some lighting from the barn (twinkles lights and a big light coming off the barn), but it's nothing compared to daylight of course. I'm not sure how much lighting situation would effect the "ambiance" of the send off items. Obviously you wouldn't do sparklers in the day-time, but what about confetti at night? All pictures I see have that use wedding confetti for the send off look beautiful, but it's during the day.

Any thoughts or more ideas for send off? What are you doing for this?

I don't want to spend more than $50ish, and I'm planning for 150 guests to actually participate in the send-off.

Ugh definitely don't want that! Good to know. Hopefully they would be far enough away so that it wouldn't happen if we did go with sparklers. The "tunnel" look is pretty but impractical

I got it from the leftovers from my sisters wedding two years ago haha. I believe she bought it off amazon for about $60 though!

Right!?!? And glow sticks are so cheap! Plus quite a few kids are going to be at the wedding so they will enjoy the glow sticks after the fact! lol. I've never seen Fiber optic wands... I will have to check into that!

We’re considering sparklers or glow-sticks. Glow-sticks are cheaper.
