What to include in bridesmaid thank-you gift bags?

Mrs.H, on January 5, 2018 at 3:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hello, ladies! I always worry whether I've done too much or not enough. For my bridesmaids, so far I've gotten each a (nice) makeup bag and to put in it: J. Crew earrings, a personalized jewelry tray, a mini bottle of sparkling wine, and a personalized thank-you note. For my matrons of honor, I'm adding Kate Spade bangle bracelets. I'm also getting monogrammed robes for everyone for the morning of, as well as initialed Pottery Barn tumblers for us to drink mimosas from. I've also put together a gift bag to give them at the rehearsal dinner that includes a sleep mask, lavender bath salts, and a "relaxing" face mask, and am going to write something like "get a good night's sleep, tomorrow's a big day!" Was also considering a bag of chamomile tea.

Do you think that's enough? My bridesmaids have really gone above and beyond. I want them to know how appreciated they are, but since my fiance and I are paying for the wedding ourselves, money is currently stretched a little thin.

If that's not enough, does anyone have thoughts/suggestions on some inexpensive ways to fill the makeup bags a bit more?

That sounds like a lot, and it sounds like some nice items. But, I know people here often suggest buying for the wedding party as if it's their birthdays. Would you be able to come up with something different for everyone that speaks to their individual tastes? That's what I've been stuck on, personally.

I think that is plenty! But as PP said, get them an item that doesn't "match" but that they enjoy personally. Example, one o my friends enjoys baking, so a cute cupcake stand, another enjoys reading, so a book, another enjoy movies so a movie pass, etc.

You have done plenty. I'm sure they already know how much you appreciate them.

Sounds lovely and more than generous to me!

A personal, hand-written note is often most highly valued, too.
