What to do?

Kristie, on February 11, 2020 at 11:30 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 34
So, I am 44 days until I say "I do" and my florist closed up shop and left me. I'm out all my money and now no flowers. There just isn't enough time to find another florist in my price range. Any suggestions? I'm desperate!

I’m sorry to hear that! Maybe try grocery store florist or Sams Club/Costco orders. I hear they are very reasonable.

Aw so sorry to hear that. You can always diy but even that will cost money. At the minimum I would diy bouquets if you can. As far as centerpieces I would go as simple as possible. What do u think u want to do, any ideas so far? Would u want non floral centerpieces

Some questions. Are u fully set on real flowers? Do you mind spending more money to make up for the loss or do u want as simple/budget friendly as possible? Did you want floral centerpieces?

Based on answering those questions theres diff routes you can take.

Centerpieces are not an issue. We are doing waterbeads with submersible lights. It's just my bridal party flowers and the boutineers. I'm not at all crafty and cant even begin to know how to make them.

First off, I'm so sorry. That's awful. Second, I would check out Costco/Sam's Club/local grocery store florist. Third, if you had a contract with this florist, I would sue them, possibly after the wedding.

Oh good only bouquets & boutonnières. Michaels has some bouquets already made. U can sometimes get Michaels stuff for 40% off if u buy online & pick up in store. But depends on ur colors. They for sure have a few white options. I bought my BM bouquets from michaels that were already made & white but I added some purple flowers & taped it together and added a ribbon.

Here is One of my bouquets that was already made. Except for the purpleWhat to do? 1

You don’t necessarily have to DIY, the ones from Sams/Costco come pre made for the most part and you just take them apart and store them in the fridge I believe. The grocery stores have florist so you don’t have to DIY.

Costco is very reasonable and so is Sams. They have different number of pieces to choose from. I’m getting 10 pieces for about $250 including my bouquet from Costco.

We signed the contract when we gave her the down payment. Finished paying off the balance last month. I called to see how things were going and got the automated message saying the phone wasn't in service. On a whim my FH and I drove over to see her and the doors were locked and the storefront was empty.

That’s horrible! I’m so sorry that happened.

I’m looking at a grocery store for flowers. I’m just doing flowers for the bridal party. Costco I heard was also good too.

If you have any budget at all, I agree with looking at the premade bouquets, etc. on the Costco website. I'd also check with your local grocery stores to see what they offer. Finally, if there just really isn't any budget, I agree with pp who suggested Michael's. We found small premade bouquets there for $5 a piece. We used them in small glass vases for the bridal shower centerpieces and then the BMs used them as "stand-in" bouquets at the rehearsal. Clearly, they weren't the same as the real flower bouquets daughter's florist made for the wedding, but for $5 each they were pretty nice and absolutely comparable to a lot of the DIY bouquets I see posted on this forum. I'm so sorry for this added stress! Good luck!

There should be a home depot, lowes or similar store in your area. get potted flowering plants. Should run about $10-20 apiece. All done up and perfect. You can "raffle" them off to your guests by putting their names in your card box and pulling out a winner from each table for them to take home. A nice and fun gesture. Best of luck!

Here are the peonies I got an Amazon for $10 a bouquet. They're already prearranged and beautiful, and come in myriad colors. I just wrapped the handles in ribbon and that part was easy! I put two together to make my bouquet, and they have great reviews. We also got the boutonnieres on Amazon (tons of options to choose from and they're inexpensive. Just type in "boutonnieres" and lots of different options pop up. I've also linked to the ones we chose below.)

Grocery store! Or Costco. There are a lot of really creative non-floral centerpieces out there too.
