What to do with wedding cards

Ingrid, on December 5, 2021 at 6:50 PM Posted in Married Life 0 6
I'm not a crafty person, not a sentimental person, I don't like to keep stuff just bc there "might" be a chance we look at the cards again (I know myself and husband, we will never pull them out to look at them, ever). With that how would you handle all the cards you received? I've got a small amount of keepsakes I've kept from the wedding, mostly the stationary items. Am I crazy to toss the cards? Everyone has received a thank you card. Part of me feels guilty tossing them, but storing them seems silly.

I know I CAN do whatever I want/need with the cards, just wondering if anyone else has come across this decision and how you handled it. If you tossed them were you upset down the road?

I never even thought to keep them. I don’t usually kee birthday cards so I don’t think I’ll keep our wedding cards. I don’t really see a point for me personally.

Honestly did not keep them =x

but i have heard on here that what some people do is they punch holes through each card and bind them together with a binder ring or rope and just keep it as a little booklet. that doesn't take up too much space, if you want to be sentimental and keep it?

Mine have been sitting in a bag in my closet for 3 years 🤣. They’ll probably get tossed eventually, though I kept them with dreams of a craft project. I really don’t think about them and wouldn’t miss them if they were gone, but haven’t discarded them yet just because I don’t need that space in my closet !

I’ve only hung on to a few cards over the years and I’m happy I have them tucked away somewhere as they’re sentimental and fun when I find them, but those are only cards with truly special heartfelt messages written in them…if you have a couple of *those* you might not want to get rid of them but to me no reason to keep ones with generic messages !

I didn't keep ours (and I don't keep cards from any occasion long-term) and don't regret it. You know yourself. You aren't sentimental about objects, and that's fine. Don't let Pinterest/wedding industry hype cloud your decision making. Smiley smile

I just got married last month and I'm trying to figure out what to do with mine. I usually only keep certain cards in general. If there were ones with lots of meaning behind it then I do keep it. But other than that I just get rid of it lol. But there were quite a few ideas I saw on here that might make me consider keeping them Smiley smile

Our one year anniversary is next week and I was just thinking about this as well! I was thinking about taking them out of the wedding bag and lining a few large photo frames. Then I want to hang those in our bedroom over our dresser so we can see them everyday when we need to remember all the love and support we have from our family and friends.
