As our wedding date is quickly approaching, I’m still searching for special pieces. What are you using for your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue? I gather that the dress will be the something new, and for the blue, I had my new name monogrammed in blue on a silk sash that will be sewed in on the bottom of my dress. I’m still struggling with the old and the borrowed.

Old - I ordered a sixpence from the year my parents were married. My mother has passed and my father has dementia so it’s a way to keep them close that day.
Blue - the ribbon on the horseshoe I will carry with my boutique.
New - the earrings and hairpin I got for the ceremony. Borrowed - I’m having a hard time with this one.

Ive got my dress as something new, my mom's bracelet as something borrowed, my earrings as something old. I just haven't found the blue one yet.

Something new is my dress, something blue are my Turquoise Converse shoes, and my old and borrowed are the same thing, a broken pearl/turquoise necklace of my late grandmothers that I am borrowing from my mom and getting fixed!

Something new is my dress. Something old is a bracelet I have worn since high school. Something borrowed is necklace and earrings set from my mom. Something blue is my garter. And I bought a sixpence from the year my dad was born to put in my shoe, just to really round out the whole saying Smiley smile

My old was my grandma's garter and the borrowed was the ring my dad gave to my mom on their first anniversary.

They all can be anything. Your something old can be anything you already own: jewelry, shoes, makeup, etc. Something new can be your dress, shoes, jewelry, etc. Something old: jewelry, etc. Something blue: nail polish, jewelry, garter, stitching inside your dress, ribbon on your bouquet, etc. Something borrowed: jewelry, etc.

There are so many things that you can use for the traditional old, new, borrowed and blue. For me, my dress, shoes and tiara were all new. For the blue I had decals on the bottom of my shoes and my garter had blue in it. For the borrowed I used my sister-in-laws' veil. And for the old I had some of my grandmother's brooches in my bouquet.

For borrowed you can do jewelry, maybe earrings or a bracelet if you don't already have them picked out. Old can be some of the same things. You borrow something old and use it for both things. You can borrow a clutch to use on your wedding day from someone too. Or something for your hair (a veil, hairpiece, glitzy pin etc.). You can borrow something that says bride too, like a robe from a friend that got married before you. You can have part of your mom's or grandma's wedding dress or something lace they've worn as the old sewn into the bottom of your dress.
