what style of crinoline or petticoat would go with this dress?

Shellie, on June 11, 2011 at 4:57 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

I'm having trouble with this. It's not a ball gown style skirt, but I don't want it all poofy on the bottom with nothing on the top. And should I go with a hoop skirt as oppoed to one that is all tulle? Help!

It will depend on how full you want it

I don't really know I'd think the bridal shop should be able to tell you but I like the second one that Maranda posted... I think you might be a tad uncomfortable in a hoop skirt I never did understand how you would sit in a chair... on a stool would be easier but then getting off of it would be a nightmare!

Thanks. I may ask my seamstress what she recommends. The bridal shop was no help. They couldn't even show me how it would look with a bustle.

Yeah your best bet is to talk to an expert. I got lucky enough to get a petticoat that goes with my dress and custom fitted.

Did the bridal shop have any that you tried on with the dress?

The dress gives a different look depending on which one you pick, so you will need to try them on with the dress to decide. I would also say #2 would help give the look of the example. No hoops, such a pain.... but know that the tulle ones can itch your legs sometimes.

Can you go try some on someplace???

The ones the bridal shop had were very full on the bottom and had nothing on the top. It was so full the underskirt got tangled in my legs lol I think I may get two different ones and try them with my dress to see which on works better and looks better. Thanks for the suggestions. and the link!

I would say an a-line. The crinoline I have isn't as poofy as I want and I got an a-line crinoline. If you have an ebay account, they have really cheap crinolines on ebay!

The link I gave you is the same crinoline I have, its $23 with free shipping
