What order for dances?

Melissa, on December 13, 2011 at 9:01 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

We'd like to do a MOG and groom dance, FOB and bride dance, and a groom and bride dance. In which order does everything go?

Are you doing the dances as soon as the reception starts or waiting until after dinner?

I think we will do our first dance right after we are done eating then do the FOB dance and then MOG dance.

I think 1st dance right away, eat, MOB, then MOG, then other dance, garter, bouqte toss, and cake cutting then other dancing. i am still trying to get it all figured out. so many things i want and so little time to do it in.

I think the order of dancing/eating should depend on what time your ceremony/reception starts. If you're starting the reception right at dinnertime, I'd suggest eating first, then dancing. Your guests will be hungry and not interested in watching your dances while their stomachs are growling. Smiley smile

As for the order of the dances, I think it's usually bride/dad then groom/mom. But - it's your wedding, you can do it however you want!

As the guests of honor the 1st dance (bride/groom) comes first - before anyone else is allowed to take to the dance floor.

The other two can happen in any order - but it's typical for the F/D dance to come before the M/S dance. However, I've seen the order changed up, and both of them done at the same time.
