What Moments in your planning process made your wedding finally feel “real”?!

For me, things started feeling real when we told people we were engaged and when we started going on venue tours. We are both pretty shy people so I don't think many people knew how serious we were, especially with us being 21 and 20 (although we had been dating since high school). And the tours and contracts made everything seem like "oh wow, we're getting married!"

I found it the day I went shopping. It was the second gown I tried on. I loved the first one, thought it would be hard to beat..once I tried on the second I knew, and seeing my seeings eyes light up and hearing her gasp cemented it. How long did it take you?

At first I thought it was booking the venue. Then I thought it was when I picked out my dress. I’m sure it won’t be until the morning of the wedding lol

We've chosen a city park ceremony near the Saskatchewan river in Canada and the reception venue is a hotel that looks like a castle!

When we booked our venue, that both hit us because we knew where we wanted to say our vows and had the green light to start planning our decor. When my dress arrived in my size and I tried a veil with it. And when we drove to our DW and arrived at the resort we had visited almost a year earlier. All moments that made it real. 😃

Sending invites made it feel real for me too, like there’s really no going back after this point lol. I almost felt nervous. That was probably the only time I really got that feeling.

When we booked our venue, and when the save the dates came in the mail. I try my first dresses on this weekend. It's such a surreal feeling!

We just got our invitations in a week ago and it's starting to feel real. I think once we send them out and get RSVPs back, then it will hit me like a freight train (an exciting freight train though)!

Every little milestone made it feel real at the moment. Recently it's been receiving RSVPs and dress fittings. I'm going for my second fitting this weekend. We only have 37 days left so that's a thing... Aahhh! Lol

I've had a couple times so far!

1st was when I picked out my dress obviously! This was also when it became super real for my dad.

2nd was when FH and his groomsmen got fitted for tuxes! That's when it really started to hit FH.

3rd was invites for us as well! We also sent our invites out on Monday and we have began to hear that people have received them!

We have also been engaged and plannig for 2 years with 79 days left!

Mine was when we were talking to the wedding coordinator a year out and she started talking about our entrance into the reception. I could just see it!

I still joke with my FH that it hasn't hit me yet, and we're in the single digits. I think the biggest moment for me though was when I took my engagement ring in with my wedding band to get them polished and soldered together.

Yay! I think sending out the invitations was a big ok this is really happening for us too😂

For me, it was when we got our STDs back from the printer. Suddenly, everything I've been planning and saving for was right there in my hand. Awesome (and a little scary) feeling!!

Yesterday was a big day - mailed out our invitations and I had my hair/makeup trial! We are 65 days out, but seeing myself all done up with a veil on is what made it really hit me!

Having RSVPs coming back has made it all feel pretty real, but we also just met with our officiant and started some premarital counseling, which really made it all feel real!
