What is your ratio of invitations sent VS actual number of acceptance?

Alexis, on October 13, 2013 at 11:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

At my Venue we have a guest minimum which is 110 so whether I have 110 guest or not I will still have to pay for 110. I have exactly 115 people on my guest list I was thinking should I take the risk of inviting more because Im thinking just in case if some ppl decline? What would you do? Thank you in advance Smiley smile most of my guest are close friends and family

I am hoping for 60 people to come and I am inviting like 70. I am not leaving much leeway but like you almost everyone I invited are either close family or friends so I have a pretty good idea of who will be coming and who won't.

Ours is a DW for the most part. We had the wedding where we live - which is 1,000 miles away from family. So - we had more than half decline.

But we knew that going in so we had a B list. It was a list of folks that we would invite only in someone that we really wanted there couldn't make it.

The only issue there is making sure you invite the B list folks with plenty of notice.

Hi Alexis!! Our dates are just one day apart...exciting!! We're inviting a total of 120 pp which includes all of our plus ones. Our venue max is 110 pp but we're anticipating only 100 pp due to the number of out of town guest.

People will always drop out. We were shocked by how many people who were originally a for-sure turned out to not be coming. We told our venue we will have 170 and now we are at 145. We will still have to pay the difference in rental fees. It sucks. I wouldn't invite people as just a "what-if" scenario because everyone may end up coming and then you are OVER! Plus wedding crashers. This is my current obsession as it draws nearer. To me, they are people who you invite, make effort to contact to see if they even got your invite but are completely unreachable regarding their attendance. It's like they fell off of the face of the Earth! Until the day of your wedding and they show up like nothing. Good luck!

We invited 200 but will only be having about 130 max due to OOT guests.

I would invite about 135 to make 110

    Invited 300 people

178 accepted (what we paid for)

175 actually attended (3 people ended up telling us beforehand they couldn't make it after all--actually 5 people did this but my grandmother and cousin's date were able to come after all, replacing 2 of the backer outers).

Yes, you should invite more people. I can promise you you will get more than 5 nos out of 115.

We invited 120 people and 83 are coming, our wedding is out of state though (at least for my friends/family) so that dwindled down some numbers.

I invited 95 guest - right now we are at 60 accepted and are waiting on 5 more to confirm so we will end at 65 if they all accept.

80% of the 95 invited are OOT

Make sure that if you invite 115 that you can actually afford to host them if they all say yes! there are horror stories on here from brides who couldn't believe they had 100% yes rate.

If you can afford it, then go for it!

Thank y'all for your advice.... I have included the 115 guest in my budget I'm just worried about inviting about 140 to get 110-115 what if everyone accepts then that means another about $3000 because per person were paying $106 I might just do a B list and once I receive the RSVP's then i will decide.
